Right it's time Ali came back. 2 months out now for a hammy injury as keeper. Surely he is good to now. As good as Kelleher has been he cost us 2 goals against Newcastle.

Jota needs to return too.

Id go

-------------------Ali-------------

Trent------Jogo-----VVD-------Robbo

-----Szo---------Grav--------Curtis

---Mo---------Jota---------Diaz

Kelleher
Endo
Quansah
Szo
Morton
Harvey
Nyonyi
Cody
Darwin

Mac has 5 yellow cards and is out.

It's going to be an absolute shitfest in the last ever Goodison derby.

Any win at all is a good result. With so many players out and a small squad a few concerns right now.

Seriously, wtf with Jota? I've had enough of his injuries at crucial times of our season. I'm also tired of not being able to rely on Nunez in these moments. I admire his chase and tackle, but he's become a liability in front of goals. Wouldn't be against moving these 2 on for more reliable and durable finishers.

Kelleher is a decent keeper but isn't quite there to be our long term #1. Think it's the end of the road for him in summer with 1 year left. Hopefully puts in some quality cup performances and we sell him for 30m in summer.
Haha you flip flop all the time. One minute its lets sell Alisson, now it's let's sell Kelleher.

Nope. It's always been sell Kelleher. Keep Ali so Mamadashvilli can play a season with him to learn the ropes than sell at 35 years old

Mamadashvilli is our long term #1 post Ali.

Yep. Jota is never out for like two weeks. Over 2 months now for a rib injury, did he break one in half or puncture a lung? Seems way too long for a recovery.

Darwin's a momentum kind of guy. He needs to be harnessed when in form. Dropped when out of form. Unfortunately there's no competition with Chiesa / Jota out.

Nervous now. Really nervous

Imagine we didn't have the lead but came home hard instead...

Enjoy it for what it is. There is no need for nervousness, although Everton on the weekend will be a properly difficult match. The fact that it is 12:30pm kickoff is a bloody joke.

Table doesnt look as good now. 7 points doesnt seem that far in front haha.

After 13 games it's great to be on top but apart from that the table doesn't mean a whole lot. A few dropped points here and there coupled with opponents continuing to win sees things change quickly at this stage of the season.

Fixture pile up is a real concern. We simply don't have enough bodies atm to sustain a challenge on all fronts. I expect us to field complete second XIs in the League Cup and Girona away. These have to be the lowest priority, if we win it's a bonus if we don't we move on.

Interesting to see what FSG does in Jan. It looks like Slot doesn't particularly rate Endo who only ever was signed as a stopgap anyway. If FSG are truly serious they should be going all out for someone like Zubimendi (or equivalent) in January, sell Endo to offset the cost.

He needs competition. Slot doesn't believe in Endo or Morton as alternatives. We need a signing in January.
Zubimendi wouldnt be competition though, you're not outlaying that kinda money for him to be competing for a spot. If we brought in a guy like Zubimendi then Grav might find his way back to the bench.

Grav is just as good in the two more advanced positions. We'd have real competition for mid places between Zuba/Grav/Mac/Jones/Szo/Elliot with Morton as emergency cover. There is also no guarantee a new signing like Zuba works straight away plus he wont be the only guy we are looking at in the #6 role. It's always good to have options.

Thought Grav had his first real poor game in that deep lying role today too.
Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton were working us over in that first half. Their front 3 were pressing too. Best I've seen us pressed this season so far. We worked our way through it in the second half. Grav's played a lot of minutes, could've been a sign of tiring legs.
