If anyone is to blame, then its Konate who was way out of position. plus Mo's weak effort in the air
Agree 100%. Salah got to the loose ball on the halfway line just before the Forest player (I think it was Hudson-Odoi?) He had to put his head in to win the ball or win a foul. He didn't and then Hudson-Odoi was easily able to win possession and Forest took advantage of our unorganised defence. From there you can point the finger at Konate for being out of position or VVD for being 5 meters behind the rest of the defence and choosing to try and cover Wood and thus playing him onside. It was a poor passage of player from multiple players, Salah should've been braver initially.

As for the game, much better 2nd half. Impressive response to a real tough 1st half. I hope that is the end of Diaz as a striker and he gets shifted back out wide. Amazing what happened when an actual striker was on the pitch, instantly scored and created another 3 great chances.

Also agree with those saying Tsimikas needs a run in starting 11. While he isn't the long-term solution, he is generally solid and has quality set-piece delivery, something Robertson has always struggled with, despite his general quality on the ball. Robertson being badly out of form makes it an easy decision.

Slot has coached well, and I loved the changes today (Gravenberch to CB to give us another ball playing option) but he has been stubborn IMO with Diaz as a striker and continuously backing Robertson.

Yeah and Konate had been sucked up into midfield, then we lost the ball creating a huge gap between VVD and Trent. It was easy for Forest from there. Shouldnt lose it in midfield there and Forest are excellent at taking advantage.

Had absolutely nothing to do with Trent, in fact I thought Trent had quite a good game defensively at RB.
Given the bus they parked the back four was not exactly under siege

TAA was excellent.
He’s a weird one. When he wants to play, he run all game.

Was the first foray forward for them. VVD didn’t want to use offside trap, and left Wood wide of him. Konate reminds me of Skrtel the way he gets sucked into the play at midfield and leaves space behind.

Didn’t need to even go in. Forest has all their players in their half all game. Just one lapse of judgment

We're lucky chelsea and man city both dropped points. Arsenal may well win tomorrow but their injuries up front mean unless they buy Isak or Havertz turns around they're done

Brentford away is going to be another tough fixture. Probably harder then Forest, given they attack and open up play a bit more.

Darwin being on the outer definitely hurt us, in the first few months he wasn't scoring but he was pressing and contributing in general play, but somewhere along the way his confidence got shot, form dropped off a cliff and Slot has basically bombed him
He plays him in the middle, which is not his best position.
Gakpo has taken the left wing as his, leaving Diaz and Nunez out. Would like that to change.

Arsenal have Spurs tomorrow, then Villa on Saturday. Hardly much of a break. Draw one of those, definitely will help. Also Wolves away the week after. Then 3 Feb Arsenal v Man City. Pep loves that match these days

Liverpool really should be taking advantage.
Arsenal have a brutal 8 weeks ahead - also have Forrest away, United away and then Chelsea.

Liverpool have a brutal finish to the season.

Best possible team. Love it

Szob's second half was very good considering he spent the first half getting deliberately kicked and getting angry about it.

But I thought it was the sort of game to start Jones: we retained possession much better after he came on. Szob more suits the open way the Brentford game is likely to take.

Don’t think Jones is suited for Szobo’s role. He’s less risk taking. Slot obviously allows Szobo to attack and make runs. Notice how different it was v Man United. So stagnant and safe with Jones.

Ibou saying that he rushed back less than 100% to play vs Man Utd because of Gomez's injury, explains why he still looks laboured. Obviously subbing him off worked for the goal but it was never the intention
