Beat them at Anfield and we win the league.
At this stage, if we beat Arsenal, that gives us room to draw 5 of the other 17 games. Assuming Arsenal win every other game.

Every team needs to improve - no argument there. I just don't think the "getting serious" or "showing up" comments are fair because they completely disregard the fact that the games are contests and the other team is out there to win too. Forest are very good and completely confident right now in their game plan, which is half the battle for them. Man U is always up for grabs. Newcastle lost immediately after playing us then won 9 in a row. Fulham we had a man sent off.

Konate was our best defender before he got injured and that injury has been the main contributing factor to our defensive frailty of late. Hopefully he can get back to top form soon.
Spot on.

It's a long season and earlier on results were outdoing performances. Lately you could almost say the opposite - because despite some dodgy defending, we are creating enough that we should be scoring 3 or more each game.

Then the overarching point is that this is a very good side but not as exceptional as at least 3 of Klopp's while he was there. Full back areas are a weakness rather than strength now. And our starting attackers as a collective were more reliable when we had prime Bobby and Mane. Diaz, Gakpo, Jota and Nunez all offer us something but are flawed for either efficiency or durability.

Despite all that we are having a great season and the frustrating run was inevitable. The title race will be fairly close and I felt that way a month ago. We remain in an enviable position.

Define big games… do you mean big games as in parked bus, low-block tag and scrap games like on the weekend?

Yes he hasn’t fired in UCL finals, but one of those he was slammed to ground and injured early…

Slot says Jota is in doubt for Brentford with a niggle.
Same old Jota, always (well, half the time) injured.

If his body had been durable I think we'd have collected a couple more important trophies.

He's only played more than 22 PL games for us one season (and often he comes off the bench for the same reason he missed matches: injury-associated lack of fitness).

A delight to watch when he's out there.

Love Gakkers, Jota, Nunez and Diaz but yeah none of them are anywhere near the levels Mane and Bobby were at.

Mane/Bobby/Mo that was some attack.

Does Mo shit the bed in the big games? It seems that way.
Look, I love Mo but in big games and finals he’s been ineffective.
Really? His record against all our biggest rivals has been huge? Scores for fun against United, has scored big goals against City. Scored in a CL final, sure a penalty, but that is big time pressure and he tucked it away.

Mo is so consistent, I dont think it matters if its a world cup final or a kick about in his backyard with his daughter, he's gonna score a goal haha

Imagine having prime Mane and Bobby in this squad. The title race would be done and we would be looking at our best ever points total in a season.
I dont know about that actually. I think we'd be futher in front than we are of course but that 99 points team under Klopp was better than this current one easily.

Fab, Hendo, Gini is better than Grav, Mac, Szo and Matip was in his prime as was Robbo.

But yeah if we had Mane and Bobby in their prime, this title race would be done.

I still love our position though, hopefully we can make it count. A win against Brentford would be absolutely huge!

If we can just maintain that 7 point gap to heap pressure on Arsenal, one slip and suddenly we can make 9-10 points and it becomes real difficult from there.

If you had prime Bobby/Mane in this squad but had a couple of the others as depth options, I'm very confident we'd be on track for 100 points.

We're on track for 89 points with this average. Those two at their best would add 10 or more points across a season I think.

Yes, UCL finals and against the good bus parkers. Hopefully, he proves me wrong against Everton.

Clearly we must have different definitions of ‘big game’ if you take issue with the above stats.

Arguably one of the best big game players we have seen in the premier league

I ****ing love the guy, my favourite player at the moment, but this just isn't acceptable anymore. He's a professional footballer, he's paid to play. Either something is wrong with his preparation and recovery or his body just isn't built for football at this level. I would be putting the hard word on him to be honest that something needs to change between now and the end of the season or he is done here.

Haaland has just signed a 9 year contract with City, if reports are to be believed. And then there's Liverpool, still trying to come to terms with Salah, an 8 year servant of the club who is in the final 6 months of his contract and who is basically knocking down the door for a new contract.

Any chance we can get some owners with ambition? I'm not asking for 9 year contracts or Mbappe, just ****ing nail down our 3 uncontracted players and get in a left fullback, FFS.

If the day comes when they finally sell to an owner who will invest to match the size of the club, I will celebrate as if we've won the quadruple.

****ing can't stand these tightass campaigner.S.
