One of the first things Slot did was challenge Szobo to be more dangerous/create more opportunities in the front third. He's taken it on board you feel

Let's flip it the other way an Man City were sitting where Liverpool is, id say no team is catching City. But when it's your own team I'm always more doubtful ...

Hope Man City do the job v Arsenal then we play City on 24th Feb.
The danger games for us I feel is Bournemouth who are flying and the game in hand Everton, who are different under Moyes. Getting points from those are vital.
I've watched most Man City games this season. Trust me when I say they are no chance of catching Liverpool this season unless we drop like 24+ points. They could get to 78 points with a great run. They're not winning out from here.
Do you think we will lose 8 of our last 16 games, or lose less but win even less than 8 of 16? If that happens we'll finish 3rd. Surely nobody is that pessimistic.

11 wins and one draw from our final 16 matches gets us out of reach of City even if they win it out which I very much doubt they will do.
13 wins and one draw and we are safe from Arsenal even if they win it out which won’t happen either. They will likely drop points against City and us at Anfield at the very least.
86-87 points should get us the title comfortably IMO. To reach 87 we could go 10-4-2 which is very doable. Lose against City and maybe against Villa or the Cherries and cop a few draws against Arsenal (Anfield) and away games against Everton, Chelsea and maybe Brighton (when we’ve already won it!)
I get the nerves but we are in very good shape. Arsenal are holding on for dear life and I could see easily going on a losing streak. They are us last season.

We're in great shape but if there's one side left to death ride, it is Arsenal.
Our next two games are tough - Bournemouth are unstoppable lately and Everton tough again with Moyes/last Merseyside Derby at Goodison. It might be worst case scenario, but imagine losing both and Arsenal beating Man City. It's possible, even if it's unlikely. Whereas if we win both and they lose to Man City, we have one hand on the trophy.

In 2022 Grand Final at half time, i had mates sending messages at half time congratulations me on the flag. Even though we had a handy leed I still wasn't confident. It wasn't till we got the next 3 goals I felt confident...
And currently I feel the same way with Liverpool... im not saying we won't, im just saying there still a story anything can happen yet

True, I just think it's much more likely that Arsenal pose that threat to our title than Manchester City this season. If they were in the imperious form of a couple of years ago then maybe they could pull off a massive comeback, but despite results somewhat turning around they're operating at about 50% the level of Pep's best teams.
As much as I see a bunch of games where Liverpool can drop points, even I am not pessimistic enough to think we will lose something like 7 of 16 games in the league from here to give Manchester City a look in. Arsenal are a different story and we will know in two games how big of a threat they are.

Also just watched the Bournemouth v Forest highlights. Why is it Sels turns to absolute garbage yet against us he transformed into peak Alisson.

No but I thought he was weak on particularly the 3rd and 4th goal. Things like that he was saving against us and against other teams all season. Just a funny thing that he had a poor game right after playing us.
It's fine though, we move. Point well earned.
We just have to as cliche as it is, take one game at a time. Knock one game out, win it, we reduce the margin of error. Keep going until its impossible to be caught!
Well yeah that's what the players do by default because it's how high performance works, controlling each moment as it comes.
As supporters we have zero control over what happens so it's fine to speculate or think about anything, as long as it doesn't induce overwhelming anxiety. I'm fine with accepting that scenarios A, B, C and D can occur from here and I'm happy to sum up the upcoming run of games. It's a forum, we discuss these things. If I was a player, then yes of course it's one game at a time.
Except Gakpo is playing his best football on the left and is performing better on the left than Diaz has the last couple of years when he's been there. Gakpo from the left will tuck in to central positions anyway, he's got the right balance. It doesn't mean he should start as a striker.
We need Jota to somehow not break, or else alternate Diaz and Nunez up front despite both not really being good enough. Our value is coming from Gakpo and Salah wide regardless, so that's the part of the formula to keep the same.
