Why wasn't Chiesa even named on the bench?

Probably to do with the balance of the bench. JoGo not being fit yet means we need to have both Bradley and Tsimikas on the bench but when Gomez is fit we only need one full back since he can cover the other position. That will leave a spare spot for another attacker.

Which then becomes unlucky for one of Bradley or Tsimikas.

If the first XI is ...

Ali
TAA Konate VVD Robbo
Szo Grav Mac
Mo Diaz Gakpo

Then IMO the strongest possible bench would be Kelleher, Gomez, Bradley, Jones, Elliott, Jota, Chiesa, Nunez.

I think lady luck was with us against Bournemouth. They deserved at least a point. I can see why they have beaten all the top teams. On their current form I can't see Arsenal beating them. We need to win the game in hand and then keep performing. Still a long way to go.

Interesting to see who plays v Spurs.
Way too negative. We should take them to the cleaners. 3-0 win.

They're up and about with Moyes and it'll be the last ever Merseyside derby at the goodison park tinshed shithole. So they'll be really up for it and so will the fans.

If we win it'll be a close one. Can't see us doing them 3-0. Historically we've struggled at Goodison, personally glad to see the back of the place. Their new venue will be a whole lot less intimidating.

Mixed feelings about last night.

Positive - City are zero chance. This was probably already the case though.
Negative - Arsenal are still a chance. This is annoying.
Arsenal were not even full strength last night either. They are looking a bit more convincing in their wins than we have for the most part in recent weeks.

We still have to play City, Tottenham, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Newcastle ahead. Arsenal still have United, Forest, Liverpool and Newcastle to come. I think that third last game at home vs Arsenal could be decisive. Though I would rather lead by a few points before we even get to that game. From a neutral perspective, it would be a cracking game if there was only 3 points between the teams come then.

Simply, the EPL is far from secured. Cannot afford to drop many points, and need to capitalize on any slips they make. Both teams have a run of solid opponents late Feb to mid March. I reckon that will give us a good idea whether we can hold on, or look like slipping away.

Going to be an intense few weeks as a fan. But thats what I'd rather, as it makes the journey better if you come out on top.

Everton is a looming as a key game. And Liverpool have them twice in 3 weeks.
