Greetings Brisbanites and QLDers in general. If I was taking a drive from Brisbane to Cairns, where should I go/stay/do stuff/things and where should I not? Maybe Fraser Island too. And I'd like to visit someone in Yeppoon. Thank you.

Gladstone? Don't remember it being too good last time I went through. Stayed overnight and had breaky and a walk along the water before driving to Airlie. What did miss?

Rockhampton was a bit of a dive but, you know, it is what it is.

I put Gladstone mostly as a stopover between 1770 and Yeppoon, otherwise that's a long drive. Gladstone Marina and Auckland Point lookout are definitely worth a visit.
