It looks good, but the E3 game play sequence looked lame

Maybe i'll just leave my Dead Space 1 and 2 memories intact

Pre-ordered last night for Series X; I very rarely ore-order (also have Hogwarts pre-ordered), so I'm pumped for this. Also playing Dead Space atm in anticipation of both this and its own remake.

Been reading some early hands on stuff. Sounds genuinely horrifying lol. Generally I'm a massive bitch when it comes to horror games but as stuff like Event Horizon and Pandorum are amongst my favourite movies this looks way too good to pass. I'm just going to have to will myself through it.

Pretty much my favourite genre; RE4 is my goat (along with Red Dead Redemption, ofc) and Dead Space makes me feel feelings.

I am so pumped for this!!

Was really hoping the Season Pass was going to be for actual story expansions.

Not game modes and death animations (where the gore of this game is where all the hype stems from / is what's supposedly separating it from Dead Space).

Strange additions but I just thought of them the same as other cosmetic junk like skins. They've worked pretty hard on their custom gore and animations I just assume they've taken a handful to beef up an upsell. Especially when those other editions with the season pass also comes with extra game modes. They can keep them though. Just like I can do without some fancy clothes I can do without some extra animations.

I've watched a lot of videos with Glen over the last few years and from what I can tell I think he's a pretty cool dude. He seems more like a gamer wanting to make games than many other directors. On the Wired Q&A thing posted he said that games are still $60 (US) as they have been for a very long time however they've become a lot more expensive to make. It seems pertinent to this that they're trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out. It will be just the standard edition for me as I'm not interested in the other stuff and as long as actual content isn't ripped to be sold later like Ubisoft in the days of old then it's not something I'll give a second thought to.

Another one of these Dev videos was put up yesterday. Seems to be quite a few of the old Visceral Dead Space team with him. Bonus points for actually name dropping Event Horizon and Pandorum here.

So there are something like 13 death animations locked into the £20 dearer deluxe edition. How do we feel about that?

Given those death animations have been part of all the gameplay videos we've seen so far it's an absolute crock of shit. Different game modes too? And they're ready and developed for launch but require the 'premium' edition of the game.

It's absolutely ****ing horrid price gouging. Day one DLC locked behind another $20, and some of it is stuff that's been shown in numerous promotional videos and people would obviously therefore expect to get when they just buy the actual game.

It's shocking. So greedy.. It's put me off buying initially with all my backlog. Will pick up cheap in the new year
