I too blame the peons who voted for Pickett in the forward line. Lift, people!!

AgreeIt's ridiculous that Pickett is even named at this point. O'Brien for mine, as we look bereft of elite pace and outside ability.
I agree. He's a long way back. If he's best 22 after doing bugger all for two years and coming back from preseason fat then our list has the depth of a paddling pool. It's ridiculous that Pickett is even named at this point. O'Brien for mine, as we look bereft of elite pace and outside ability.
Beats the shit out of Graham, Buckley, Smedts, Lamb and PalmerI'm just putting it out there.
If Bolts wants the win, he may play Lang, Newman, Thomas, Bugg and Fasolo in the same side.
Out:
Byrne, Wright (retired)
Casboult, Jack Silvagni, Cuningham (omitted)
Would like to know if our best 22 from last season actually played a game together or not.

Consensus best 22?
No, given Williamson was voted in on the bench but didn't play a senior game in 2018.
He'll likely get picked ahead of Williamson and Pickett from this team in reality. And Thomas was not in our 2018 Consensus 22 and played seniors all year.
It was a consensus decision to leave him out two years running. The loathing runs deep. And Thomas was not in our 2018 Consensus 22 and played seniors all year.
Walsh Is Our Man

Coming to the surprise of absolutely nobody, Number 1 Pick Sam Walsh is the final man in our Consensus 22. Perhaps the most AFL ready kid to come through the draft in years, Sam will make a huge impact from Day 1 and almost certainly lineup against the Tigers in Round 1. His running ability and class will be clear, as well as his footy smarts and penchant to get to contest after contest. Walsh was a clear #1 in the draft and here as our 22nd man with over 50% of all votes.
Playing 20 games in his debut season, Lochie O'Brien was a clear 2nd and fills the first EMG spot, however many see him also lining up in Round 1 as a starter - his professionalism, sharp kicking and endurance an asset to the senior team.

Veteran Dale Thomas, 3rd year player Dave Cuningham and ex-Demon Tom Bugg round out our 'Best 26' and are all tipped to play senior footy in 2019.
Thank you to everyone for engaging, voting and discussing our 22 for another year. It's always a pleasure to run this thread. However, in 2019 I'll be stepping back and watching CJMB take the reigns to guide our 2020 Consensus 22. I'll be voting and following with great interest.
Finally, thanks to Jeremias and Aphrodite for their speedy assistance and modding the last few years.
Consensus Love,

If I was to hazard a guess for round 1, I'd probably expect Lochie & Daisy to be named at the expense of Pickett and another... who that is I'm not quite sure... Setters maybe. Willo, Newman or even Fasolo seem possible, although I'd expect the three of them to be named.Encouraging to see Pickett still held in reasonably high regard and a bit surprised to see O'Brien out.
Judging from the reports Walsh will be one of the first picked.
We'll get our favourite investigative reporter and closed session specialist, HARKER to do it. Might be hard from up in QLD.Matty Boy - gun job - now to print it out and slip it under bolts' front door - he'll think it's another invite to the little people's street party
