Agreed, I'd take Carlton over Collingwood any day. Also, probably less expectations and pressure too. I rate Carlton highly, they just need a couple more good young players, and a coach who isn't soft, and they will be right up there.
Yeah they got plenty of blokes who are the Fritschs, Salem's etc of the world.
McKay Weitering and Walsh are stars. If a different coach can get some better production out of some of the fringe players they play finals no problem

Clarkson won't coach anywhere next year he isn't working to give up his million bucks the hawks owe him. he'll take a year off earn his million doing sweet **** all then we'll turn to shit like Melbourne does then we'll get 1 of the greatest coaches ever😍 win 5 flags on the trot GO DEES.
Honestly why would he coach next year and give up the money owed? why would you take the collingwood job? why would you want the blues job when the top is shit house? just sit out and take the GWS, GCS on zillions or if Eagles start dropping off next year he could take that job if they feel like Simpson has run his course. Collingwood and Blues be the least 2 appealing jobs you'd have thought

Does he not get paid out if he takes another job after copping the sack? Absurd condition if true.

Carlton's list would be attractive but the board might be an issue. They aren't afraid to axe campaigners if they don't deliver quick results, even famed coaches.

Agree, if Eddie was still president of Collingwood the choice would be easy for me, **** lists, give me the job security.

Nah not for coaching, he gets paid out for next years contract but if he takes another it's void anyway.

Easiest choice of my life then if im Clarko. Im not coaching next year.

Wonder if any clubs will try to sign him for 2023 well in advance then. Could see Collingwood asking Harvey to stay on as interim for an extra year if it means they get Clarkson in 2023. Need someone willing to be the interim for that long though.

Jobs going are pretty shit tbh. Think id rather wait a year and see what plays out. Next year there is a chance you could have someone like Port or Melbourne available to you.

It's not uncommon to have a non-compete clause in employment contracts. Might depend on the particulars of his leaving (sacked v resigned) but not unreasonable to hear he can't walk straight to another club.

Could definitely see Clarkson as the Giants coach. Reckon there would be an allure for a coach like him to be the first premiership coach of a club and GWS are a well run organisation.

Another season like this one and the Saints might be also looking around .

Clarko good friends with Rats. Doubt he'd sign with Saints if they headhunted him at the expense of Rats.

Agreed, although they might be heading towards a bit of a rebuild over the next few years. Their tall stocks are pretty inexperienced and a bit thin imo. Plenty of talent to work with though, especially in the midfield.

No guarantee clarko coaches another AFL team, I've heard that apparently he studies every sport and finds all about the tactics of each. Wouldn't surprise me if he tried his hand at another sport like Rugby or something. He could definitely do it.

West Coast the smokey for me Simpson been there forever last 2 years have started looking trash and massive swing in best and worse. big strong club Clarkson would get what he wanted there.
