Boy this season was boring

the only good episode was the one based around the Romanovs.

the show is simply too close to the modern day Now. All the interesting historical events that made the show is gone.

the drama between the royals relationships is so boring and always has been.
Had to agree, also think it was way to Charles and Diana focused. Kind of wish they'd knocked that out in one season, rather than dragging it over two.

Realistically though, it's what the public wants...we all love our Charles/Diana/Camilla triangle.

The problem is that it naturally takes the focus off potentially good stories that may have been forgotten. A good example I use is the Aberfan disaster which was a great episode about what the Queen thought was the right thing to do but in the end completely misjudged public opinion, but in the course of the Queen's reign is barely a blip.

Maybe they could have had more of an exploration into Princess Anne's divorce and remarrying of a 'commoner', for example.

The only positives were I thought they did the lead up to and death of Diana very well and respectfully. The teaser bit at the beginning of the entire series was chilling.

Everything else. The Ghost of Diana was laughable. The Queen's dream of Tony Blair becoming King. Wtsf.

And an entire episode devoted to "Willmania"
(not to mention an awfully ugly Prince Harry)

Spare me. :tearsofjoy:

Please.

Where’s Sarah F in all of this? I had the impression her and Diana were close.

And that James guy and Diana?

They portray as an isolate. Disappointing.
Yeah her, and the younger kids except maybe Anne, barely get a mention. You'd think Andrew and.... lol I cannot remember his name. Edward! You'd think they dont even exist.

I'm preserving but I'm srsly fast fwding certain scenes. One of the episodes features the drip Tony Blair I sped thru a couple of those scenes 🤣

Oh yeah and the dream sequence. Awful.

I didn't bother with the last season at all, is it worth the effort or best just to forget it even exists?
Imo watch up until Dianas death. The episode that follows is basically a carbon copy of the movie The Queen with Helen Mirren.

I'd end it there tbh. But I'm too far gone now lol

Same

Hugely disappointed

It was epic S1-2 must watch

To see how it tailed off…

I saw a clip of William at uni or wherever seeing Kate for the first time it and it put me off watching any of the final season.
The early seasons were great because the actors were good, costumes and sets first rate and nobody could remember or give much of a f*** about what Princess Margaret got up to.
