...must be the fact that consistently, we allow mediocre, rubbish nobodies and fluttery debutantes to get centuries against us.

Look at the list...players such as Cowan, Rummans, Paine (before he improved), Hartley (well before he improved) and everybody's favourite - Greg Mail.

I'm sure there are more, that's just off the top of my head - name and shame for the disgraceful, pathetic Redbacks. The only consistency they offer is inconsistency.

And Paine had hardly done anything with the bat after that 215, before scoring that 100 against us in the one-dayers.

Just because he was picked on potential doesn't mean he had much in the way of performance. He had been performing quite badly with the bat for quite a time. Hence the 215 remains his only every first-class hundred.

The only idiot here is you.

Completely accurate, unfortunately.

A hack like Cowan, 3 hundreds in his 28 matches, average 31 and has never made more than 137...and we let the spud reach 174* before the day is out.

Redbacks really are a rubbish side.

Fascinating, three people claim it's stupid with zero evidence.

Pathetic efforts.

204* :)

As i right this, the west end red backs are second on the shield ladder. Geez they must be rubbish!!!

You must have never seen a cricket season before if you think that means anything.

One clap for you.

What are you 'righting' anyway?

I don't know why most people in here are getting shitty because

1. you don't support them, we do
2. Tambaran is spot on

Good teams brush aside hacks like Cowan, not SA though. We always let some unknown or some out of form player get themselves into form thanks to shithouse bowling and shithouse captaincy.

Only SA could have a team at 3/28 only to let them get to 3/268.

Best we can hope for in this match is 2 points with some good batting .. wont be holding my breath though. Got a bad feeling we'll give up all 6 points here.

A guy makes 225, and this forum labels him a dud. Is that just typical? Has anyone ever heard the saying "every dog has its day?".

SA had Tassie in all sorts of trouble when Cowan and Marsh pulled them out with a top partnesrship. That's cricket.

I'm almost willing to bet the OP hasn't made 225 runs in his life time :)

He is a dud. What's he done apart from this 225 in his career? Shit all. He's an average player at best and that's what this thread is about - SA making average players look good.

Shit, I remember back in high school there was this one guy in our team that was so bad, yet when we came up against the worst side in the comptetition he fluked his way to 70 or so not out. Does that score of 70 automatically rule out all of his previous scores of 10 or below and make him less of a dud? Nope he's still shit!

So Klinger who went from fringe player at Vic to player of the year in one of the formats is also a dud?

you argument is just plain stupid.

You have obviously never played cricket at any level above the under 13Bs at school. I've got news for you mate, it gets harder as you move up through the levels. To call a bloke who just made 225 in a Sheffield Shield match "shit" is just too stupid for words. Do us a favour and STFU, because you obviously have no freaking idea. Your good mate Tambaran can do the same.

.... the shame is the fact that dan cullen and cullen bailey have been wasted over the last couple of years and that shaun tait has been so cruelly wrecked by injury
QFT

They way both our spinners have been treated by SA in both development and game time is disgusting - id bet theyd be playing for Aus now if they were from NSW or Qld because at least they have a clue on how to develop them.

Lets hope that the injuies have left taity for good - i think its going to a long term process but we can hope some luck will go his way

Spot on. While some first class cricketers are better than others. The Australian Domestic competition is the strongest in the world. To call a bloke who has scored shield hundreds before (against other states) "shit" is just plain stupid.

I wish both had done a watto: play for home state, in/out of the team, move interstate to a state that needs a player of your type, get noticed as a standout player.

I hated watto at the time for moving to tassie to get noticed in the early part of his career and then leaving. However, it was undeniably a masterstroke - one that the two cullens should have taken notice of.
