With 9 Sunday night matches in the first 16 rounds next year (finishing anywhere between 9pm-10pm eastern time) it’s going to be a long night at Fox Footy with Bounce and First Crack to follow.
I wonder if Bounce could move back to a weeknight timeslot, maybe Wednesdays after 360, and just leave First Crack on Sundays.

So Fox have released their article about the fixture and I noticed this little tidbit which was not expanded upon...
A) The Fox Footy exclusive Saturdays in Vic deal was extended from up to Round 15 to until the end of the H&A season, OR
B) It's still 'only' Fox exclusive in Vic until Round 15 BUT any Saturday games after that are on delay on free-to-air until finals.
Thoughts?

New Fox article about Whateley and Hudson calling Friday nights has some more detail about Saturdays. Exclusive to Fox in WA and SA until Round 8, NSW, ACT and Queensland until Round 10 and for the entire season in Victoria, Tasmania and NT. Guessing Seven were happier with getting Thursday nights (almost) every week and Fox wanted the Saturday exclusive extended for the entire season in Victoria.
Seven had an infographic recently of their weekly AFL programming that listed Saturday and Sunday night footy in 2024 but neither were shown as part of their 2025 programming so maybe Fox also has all of the Sunday night games next year? Seven had the rights for Essendon/Carlton on Sunday night this year and I'd have thought they would want to continue showing that game but maybe not. There was about 80/81 games on Seven the last two years with 23 rounds whereas it looks there'll only be 75 next year if they don't have any of the Sunday night games:
23 on Thursday nights plus Easter Monday and King's Birthday (which is why there's two rounds with no Thursday games)
25 on Fridays (23 at night and two in the afternoon for Anzac Day/Good Friday with Fox showing the two night games from WA instead)
25 Sunday afternoons

No, it's been confirmed 7 gets 5 Sunday games. So in total they get 81 matches (they get 24 Friday nights, not 23).
Sunday Night Football is probably not on their infographic because of how infrequent it is.

I hadn't seen that anywhere but it makes sense that they'll have the same number of games. Five of the nine Sunday night games have start times after 7pm so they seem like logical candidates to be on Seven (Port/Hawks Gather Round, Dogs/Saints Easter Sunday, Lions/Suns R8, Eagles/Cats R12 and Essendon/Carlton R13). I thought Seven might not show either of the Friday night public holiday games but Freo vs Crows on Anzac Day has an 8:10pm AEST start time so they'll probably have that game and not the Eagles/Essendon on Good Friday which starts at 6:10pm AEST.
The pontification will go to new levels. Huddo will run rings around himif he doesn't, he will soon when Huddo out-commentates him

They could get Dusty to provide more insightful analysis than Brown
Huddo and Gerrard...it will have a Bruce and Dennis feel about it. Two pros who both do their homework and have a feel for the moment. BT's days are well and truly numbered at 7, they'll be losing viewers everywhere.

Matthews gets away with it because of his standing as a player but he’s a boring analyst who’s had nothing interesting to say in years. Zero insight. He’s also well into his 70s. Pension him off.

They probably will then as they are competing with 7. As much as BT annoys me I would probably prefer listening to him from the ground than if Fox are calling from a TV trying to work out if a ball has gone through for a goal or point.
The Fox exclusive games they will probably call from the studio if they aren't from Melbourne or Perth as there is no competition
