No.
Sure the power may still be there, but the speed and movement is gone. That why Jones Jr kept talking about Tysons legs, he couldn’t get in a position to throw a decent punch and Paul wasn’t standing still.
He legs and balance were gone in his last 6-8 fights 20 odd years ago .
He was either a straight target or had zero balance .
Was never improving from then to now

Lmao at the people in here getting angry over what was never going to be a truly legit match, especially when it didn't even cost anything in PPV.

There's plenty of real boxing every weekend to sink your teeth into. Unsurprisingly though there does seem to be a correlation between those most angry and those who've never posted about any other fight in here.

If you choose to only tune in to celeb fights don't be surprised if you only see manufactured shows.

Middle paragraph is too hard.
Was an entertaining spectacle.
Glad Tyson got a pay day no Don King types mooching off him.

Entertaining, you gotta be kidding! Terrible commentary, all bad actors trying to make it seem real. Even the crowd knew they had been duped.

These non fights are so empty, futile. Just like Mayweather/McGreggor farce.

Tyson trained for months and hardly threw a punch, didn't throw 1 combo. Was more scripted than WWE. Jake could have knocked him out in later rounds also. Even on 1 leg Tyson could have thrown much more.

Jake is nothing. Will have zero cred when it is all over. He wouldn't even get top fights on the pro circuit, bums would end his career in a heartbeat.

Saw Tyson's career. Mike in his prime fighting for real would end Jake inside a minute.

Good luck Netflix in trying to sell the next farce, these exhibition matches have run their race IMO.

Was honestly surprised you could bet on it.
Not for the purists that's for sure.
Don't worry about Netfix, they gave it away for free and killed it.

I remember as kid watching Ali fight the Japanese world karate champion. The karate guy wasn't allowed to kick so he spent the whole fight on his butt shuffling around the ring and using his feet to keep Ali at a distance so he couldn't punch him.

Close to as big a joke as what this was.
This was before my time but from memory in his biography I recall it saying the guy did a fair bit of kicking to ali's lower legs and buggered his knee?

Yeah he was allowed to kick from the ground just not standing

lol

People have been saying that for years, and they have been wrong for years, and they'll continue to be wrong.
I think you are right. Crazy. I think there was a definite shift in the attitude of those that attended though. People don't like to be made fools of, even when it was obvious before the bout.

Jake calling out Álvarez is funny. Now that would be worth watching if not scripted.

He needs to fight a legitimate fighter (current top ten or belt holder) to get any respect. He has the money, fans but no substance. If he fought a serious fighter and and got knocked out, at least he would earn respect.

He did fight a boxer, he fought a semi pro and lost.

The only actual boxer Paul has faced he got schooled, And Tommy Fury isn't even any good. The whole Jake Paul being a boxer is just a clownshow.

But it's working the proof is in this thread more posts about Tyson vs Paul than actual world title fights.

People like entertainers. Boxing is a bit thin in that department.

What a weird ****ing time, bunch of campaigners come on here who never watch boxing, watch a freak show match then tell us they'll never watch boxing again 😂

Righto 👍
tbh I was more here to see if what I saw in the womens match was typical in the level of action and straight out pounding where they basically stood there taking swings at each other without really trying to dodge - hadn't seen that in the previous (olympic) boxing that I had glanced at

Was actually a wrestler Antonio Inoki .

Yep kicked the crap out of Ali's legs . Angelo Dundee reckoned that obviously with other factors buggered his legs and mobility.
From memory it was around 76 so a good argument he was on a steady decline anyway

Paul got 40 mill and Tyson 20 mill. Not sure what the other fights got, but Paul is a advocate for fighters getting more money.

I'm not as bothered about even watching it, as it cost me nothing (already a subscriber to Netflix). People actually paid money for Barry Hall fights.
Katie Taylor was paid $6m and Amanda Serrano was paid $8m.

Tyson didn't throw punches because he physically couldn't, not because it was scripted. Please people, know the difference.

You were duped because you don't know what you're looking at, not because they duped you with a scripted fight
Yeah tried to explain this to a mate who sent me a stupid video of how it was a fix, hitting a stationary bag isn't the same as hitting a 6'4 athlete who has some boxing training and experience. Tyson couldn't move his feet quick enough to plant and unload. It wasn't scripted.

Yeah he had already started the rope a dope technique prior to this but I think he had ongoing mobility issues after this so relied on it more and more.
