There are scenes from Weimar cinema that shaped every film since: Peter Lorres agony in M, Max Schreks sepulchral Nosferatu, and above all the fever dream of Metropolis.

Bloom is a handsome fellow on screen but not a skilled performer. He's a skinny skateboarder type.

Gleason is a tremendous actor of great skill and presence, as well as brutally built Irish footballer.
Bloom would be too quick and dashing. Like how Carlton Bryce Gibbs used to easily beat up all the AFL players before Delilah Pyke made him cut his hair.

hmm. tough one.

probably this for me. one of my favourites. the "mystery/whodunnit" of scream was executed well, having lillard as the killer given his other acting roles in the past was brilliant as he hammed it right up. one of my favourites

the absurd nature of riding the bomb that could destroy the world is remarkably funny

one of the greatest adaptations of macbeth ending in a truly violent way. a masterpiece

It's the magnificent and chilling score by the legendary Bernard Herrmann that really sells it, I mean the angles and direction by Hitchcock is amazing, but the it's the music that makes it iconic and legendary. You don't even have to have seen the music whenever some other pop culture show or movie uses it (Like The Simpsons on several occasions like the time Maggie bashed Homer's head in with a mallet) to know its from Psycho.
