Look, you can argue all day about who's been accused of what and who's been convicted of that, but I think at the end of the day most people understand that it's highly unlikely that anyone can just wear the colours of a 1%er motorcycle gang without demonstrating a capacity to do things most of the rest of society would balk at. It should be no different if Thorpe was on a committee looking into historical sexual abuse within the Catholic Church and she was caught dating someone who once occupied a prominent position within that hierarchy. It's simply a conflict of interest based on what group Dean Martin has represented for years: a group whose members have been caught committing crimes, more so than most other motorcycle groups. Dean Martin himself may not be a criminal, but that's not the point. The 1%er patch represents something and is earnt, so by wearing it he's representing something much bigger than just himself.
