Gonna get home right around the start but my predicted XI:

Head
Khawaja
Labuschagne
Smith
Inglis
Webster
Carey (+)
Starc
Lyon
Murphy

It's pretty close to my preferred lineup with the squad they have over there.

Are you opening with Webster or spin? I don't mind either option in Galle to be honest but will the selectors have the kahunas to go with 1 strike bowler? I can see them playing only 1 of Murphy or Kuhneman and playing Boland or Abbott simply because it's the type of thing they do.

Webster first dig, spin second.

been pretty insipid today from sri lanka
They've won 25% of series at home against non-minnows over the past decade. They're not a great test team, our insipid record makes people forget that.

they’re certainly not fantastic but it’s been pretty ordinary out in the field.

Shocked that it was so comprehensive. Between Karunaratne, Chandimal, Mathews, Mendis and Dhananjaya you have some very classy players in the top 6. Their bowling did look a little toothless compared to ours.

Wouldn't be surprised if they use the same pitch.

struggling to wrap my head around picking cooper connolley. to my eye, he's got very limited shield cricket under his belt - 4 matches? with sparse standout performances in those games. he's been picked as a batting allrounder who's yet to score a first class century, compare that to nathan mcsweeney who has, and so has sam konstas, and as a bowler he's taken a total of 15 wickets across all of his performances, T20, ODI and FC cricket, none in FC cricket, none in international cricket so far.

i've read that he's done well in t20, but i just don't feel like it'll be transferrable

LOL Labuschagne is such an easy wicket these days. That shot was terrible…worthy of a number 11 not a no.3
Genuinely surprised he got a game in this test. He had no idea against spin in the first test when the rest of the side made 650. George Bailey looking after his mates again.
yeah i think his times up, hasn’t evolved, gets caught on the crease so often.

Well most said that Warner would not be any good either given he was not even playing shield cricket when he was picked in the 20/20 side. I know he had better white ball form so it is a little different . It is basically about the left hand spin. He may well not play another test
