We once saw foo fighters at hi fi bar, tiny venue for band so big! The stage wasnt even a foot higher than the punters
That is a very weird venue for them, early days in their career I'd imagine? The Hi Fi bar is actually probably my favourite venue in Melbourne as far as sound goes.

2000! No too early I guess

For me this is the quintessential unplugged gig.. a band destined for greatness, skills and musical maturity beyond their years..

But oh man, Vedder in this, voice absolutely on point. The mixing is perfect, you can hear every creak and crackle of his voice, I reckon I get about 15 hair standing on back of neck , shivver moments in this half our set. Best.

Did you stay at home and video it (late-ish) on a Saturday night when they showed in on ABC? Remember they used to play 2 back to back...hope they didn’t pair them with Live (that may have been REM).
They must have done this early in their career because Stone Goddard had the peroxide shaved head by the time they did the Oceans video

Yeh I wore out the video!!

I reckon this was unique as they hadn't exploded yet, 92ish. Most explode then get the unplugged gig

Been listening to a lot more spacey/ambient stuff lately.
This playlist then the Dark Ambient/Dungeon Synth on the same channel.

Varg is an... Interesting guy with some uhhh views (well that and he's a convicted murderer), to say the least. Def turns me off listening to Burzum's stuff. Seems like a lot of those views are common among European and more specifically Nordic black metal bands.

I came across a french BM band called Peste Noir and I was really digging it musically and I'm not really one to really care too much about lyrical content, and certainly go seek out translations when they're not in English but I saw one of their clips and was like "hmmm, something seems a bit off here" and went deep diving more into the band, and yeh, lol, not great....

None of this answers what you were looking for, but eh.
I really grapple with Peste Noire. I think the music is some of the best I've ever heard, especially for black metal. But after finding out about the views I've tried to somehow justify it.

He had a bass player of Asian background early on. He listens to a vast range of music of differing political ideologies and cultural backgrounds. But then he's teamed up with more extreme white supremacist groups. No matter how I twist it, he's a dick.

I mean I still like The Smiths, but think Morrissey is a dick. I can appreciate Burzum. But I dunno, it doesn't fit easy with me.
