No way. You can get quality for a lot less than that. $1000 is a great budget. If it was me I'd try and get my hands on one of these.

Built in effects that don't require an amp and the great build quality yamaha are renowned for
cool - thanks man! It looks like they have one on sale at the guitar shop near me - I'll try to go in and have a play

I went and tried one this morning jmoo wan. I'm going to get one 😂 They only had one. This one:

But they are asking $1300 so yeah nah. There's another store that has them for $899 and I think I want the non cutaway model anyhow as I'm not planning on busting out any high neck solos. Having the shoulder gives it a fuller sound too(allegedly). This is actually a pretty cool video if you're interested in the different shapes and sizes of acoustic guitars and what their point is:

But yeah getting back to the transacoustic the chorus and reverbs were really nice. Was quite trippy having a sound like that come out of a guitar that isn't plugged into anything.

here you go man:

I havent been able to get into the store - hopefully tomorrow or Monday, but I want the red one too!

I want to buy a new Acoustic Electric guitar but cannot be arsed doing any research. Hoping someone can do it for me Beerfish - looking in your direction.

I've been playing for years but I am pretty awful. I like to play chords and sing along (badly)
Acoustic centre in sth melb has some nice Eastman stuff. Cant really go wrong with them.

If you're feeling cheeky, try get a fenech down off them to try. Amazing.

I just watched the video - a lot of it was over my head, but man I love hearing people geek out about their passions!

that looks like the kind of place I'd need to rehearse a lot before going in!

Just got back to Aus after going to the UK for this festival. Pretty much a dream line up for me, was super cool to be around other people actually into this kind of music since I don't get a lot that with my normal friendship group here and even meet some other Aussies who made the trip over by themselves. Was an absolute blast to get out of Aus for a bit and see some great gigs.

On the guitar front, some of you might like this. Slash goes through a whole heap of guitars in his collection, both ones in his current rig and those that he has in storage.

Personal favourite is the 1987 'Jessica' LP STD Factory 2nd. Also love the Anaconda Burst Sig Model.

That actually came up in my feed the other day. Didn't have an hour spare though!

Would highly recommend it when you get a chance. It not just Gibson's either, it also features some BC Rich's, Guilds, Fender, Epiphone etc.

Just a really cool and thorough look beyond a typical rig rundown.

Iirc most of appetite was recorded with a bc rich which I found a fun fact.

I'll definitely check it out. Cheers

Not to be a know-it-all, but it was mostly recorded with a copy of a Gibson LP Standard made by the luthier Kris Derrig. The original features in the above clip at 50:30 in. Its also been his go-to for all his albums with Guns/VR/Conspirators since.

So the grand irony being the guitar that arguably saved Gibson was actually a copy, which Gibson has now copied itself numerous times across a few Slash signature model releases.

As a bit of BC Rich trivia, You Could Be Mine (which was recorded with a BC Rich also featured in this clip around 29:10) was actually written during the Appetite sessions, however was held over to UYI.

irony is they'd likely sue Derrig these days :p

one of the hardest tones to cop as neither his Les Paul nor his Marshall were off the shelf.

his playing is special too. combines technically elite skill with a lot of feel. Really was the perfect bridge between 70s & 80s hard rock.

jmoo wan it's here and it's great. 2 days from Adelaide. I'm pretty impressed.

Edit after playing it for a bit: The only gripe I have is that the frets are a bit grainy which isn't very pleasant. I'm pretty sure the one I played in the store wasn't this bad but maybe I just didn't notice it at the time. I only played it for about 5 minutes if that. It's not a huge deal for me because I can just polish the frets but you may want to keep that in mind maybe?

have spun the new Muse album a few times this weekend.
For a 9th album, it's pretty good. Has some "lazy" moments, and a less than obvious (ahem) tribute to Manson, but have added a decent 5-6 tracks to the repertoire for any live shows.

Halloween is excellent. Clip and track.
I don't mind it, it's certainly better than Simulation Theory.

Much less subtle (if that was possible...) with the lyrical themes though.

I find it funny people have been knocking the authoritarian stuff.
they've been on that since Origin. the parallels of that album and 1984 are quite stark.

its quite good, and im pumped for a tour. Got some stuff on there that I think will be excellent live.

that's awesome! I don't know what grainy frets are, so I assume it wont bother me!

They have, the themes are the same but it's just blatant now.
