I’m recent days, I’ve hear these things from Liberal candidates, adverts or sitting members in Victoria:

• abortion should be banned
• that it’d be great if Andrews turned in to a red mist, with a directly stated approximation to pink mist (as a military term)
• “when we took to the streets” (****ing cookers)

And that’s just the last two days.

In addition, we’ve got ultra conservative religious ********* who approve of gay conversion therapy.

These two are not the same. The Liberals are ****ing scumbags and anyone that votes for them is either dumb as ****, or an evil prick.

I know it was 'referred to police' but I cannot get over how little ongoing coverage this statement got.
Imagine a middle eastern looking person yelling the same thing at Flinders St and what the reaction would be!
Absolutely amazing that a sitting official can get away with saying it.

And the half-arsed apologies and 'it was taken out of context' were just as bad.

Possibly. It may also be that the electorate here leans more left so will tolerate it, but I'm loathe to go down that road without any sort of evidence. It smacks of John Howards comments. I think you're probably closer to the mark.

They are further left at the moment because Andrews, and now DP Jacinta Allen are both from the socialist-left faction of the ALP.

However I expect that to change by the next (2026) election. Andrews barely beat off the more conservative faction of the ALP when he instilled Allen mid year. If he stands down before the next election, Allen isn't going to become Premier without challenge from within the party.

True, and I doubt those circumstances include a challenge from the conservative faction within the party with their own candidate, so you might be right.

When are we going to see the day when rubbish political adds are put out to pasture.
The fact they keep saying Matthew Guy cut $1 billion from health is just wrong. He was not the premier or the health minister. He was minister for planning.
He also did not wage war on the Ambulance or Tafe.
ABC fact check pointed it out last time it was wrong as far as the health cut claims go.
It should be that any adds have to be submitted to an independent fact check before they can be used.
And no I am not tied to any party. All sides have been as bad as each other with various adds in most elections.
To be honest I want Labor to win. Ian Cook to knock Dan of in Mulgrave and everyone to number 1 to 5 below the line so that the deals to get half the Muppets in the senate become void.

The Labor right is still a bit weak though isn't it . Dan pretty much blew most of them up. I guess if he is out of the way it may change.
