The Heat....

It's summer, it gets hot.

I'm not trying to be some hero but yeah it was warm today but it wasn't absolutely sweltering.

If anything it's been a fairly mild summer, we've not had many days over 30.

Melbourne's becoming an increasingly more temperate environment I think.
Haven't had that many stinking hot days, but I recon it's been a good summer as we haven't had too many bullshit "Melbourne" summer days that are cold/cool.

Adelaide gets the worst heat waves

Its been a long while since we have since a long stretch of heat forecasted. The last 3-4 years has been weird with short hot spells, humidity and unseasonal rain. That is probably more to do with climate change.

The current hot spell is pretty typical of Adelaide. Next 10 days is a mixed bag, low 30's are OK but anything above 36, yuck.

When you look at the Windy app, its a bit strange that a stiff wind blowing south west, south or south east still has us pegged above 30.

Whenever we've had a day of like 35+ it's just been a day. That idm.

What we've had recently can **** off now and never come back tho

I think it's been the first el nino one since the 2020 catastrophe? And yes easily the worst since then imo.
I don't remember 2020 summer - too long ago lol.

But last year's was a fairly wet summer, lots of thunderstorms and not really that many hot days.

We've not had much rain at all this summer, and plenty of hot days.

I remember NYE/NYD that time. I had to drive with my sunnies on after midnight because of the bush-fires.

I just remember it being constantly dry and hot like this one and how we reportedly lost between 500 million-3 billion animals from those fires. It's still hard to believe to this day and just makes me really sad.

OH. Those bushfires were 2020. Now I remember.

It feels like that because we had a few hot days at the start of Feb. Otherwise Jan was average.
From memory of what rellies told me, last summer in Melbourne wasn’t particularly hot. Here in SEQ it was diabolically hot and humid last summer but this year so far there have been a few days over 30 but not many 🤞
