The Jamarra Thread

Surely he can play managed minutes?

It’s just better to get him out there.

Match fitness is the best way to build fitness.
Unfortunately I think people need to start preparing for the possibility that he will never play for the club again, let alone play managed minutes.

There is so much allegedly going on Jamarra's life and it is so complex someone could use Jamarra as their phd topic for their thesis.

Really should it be this complex you train hard, play to your best and get well paid on your performance. Trouble is Jamarra does not train hard or do his best.

Yep and there are plenty of people actually doing it really tough right now. There are people living in cars, people balancing a couple of jobs, paying a mortgage, barely putting food on the table or keeping the lights on and maybe dealing with kids with their own struggles and serious medical conditions.

I don't know Jamarra's exact situation but from the outside and the longer it goes on it seems like his **** behaviour has been indulged and tolerated by the club for long enough. This is a privileged AFL footballer on a massive wage who is seemingly kicking sand in our faces especially by his Insta posts and doing stuff all right now to justify us paying him at all, so I'm a bit over the kid gloves approach to him.

If he wanted to play he would turn up to training ergo he clearly doesn’t want to play.

How the hell anyone in any industry can get paid to go to the pub, to the NFL, to the NBA and not be sued for fraud in claiming mental health is beyond me. The term “woke” has been adopted across too many things but this is woke crap at it’s finest. Harden the **** up or piss off to deal with your health properly under supervision

I call bullshit on this whole backstory crap. He’s just being allowed to run wild and its AFL House and the stupid players union that are pandering to it.
Well said 👍

Obviously you know a lot more about the situation, but just to clarify:

He wants to play, but doesn’t really want to train? So he feels like a place in the side is a right, and not a privilege?

It just makes it harder to understand considering he’s only down to training on a very limited basis, time granted away to train on his own and all that. If that was the case, surely he’d want to get down to training more and more each week, until he’s full time again and ready for selection.

The fact that the opposite is happening tells me it’s already completely over.
He still has a return to play plan in place and he isnt too far behind yet.

There is obviously only so much we all know and so much we can all openly discuss.

All I can really add now is that if he doesn't start knuckling down now that return to play time line will start blowing out and the vultures (Media) will inevitable have a field day, and as we all know it'd trial by media.

This one has stumped me and there’s only two things I can think it means..
😂
You find snowflakes everywhere you look. Most of the snowflakes don't even know they are snowflakes....

Is that why we see so many melts here?
This is a commonly used definition of a snowflake:

"Snowflake is a derogatory slang term for a person, implying that they have an inflated sense of uniqueness, an unwarranted sense of entitlement, or are overly emotional, easily offended, and unable to deal with opposing opinions."

Snowflakes often take great delight in accusing others of being snowflakes, not recognising that they are indeed the true snowflake.

a bit early in the morning for philosophy?

Why don’t we just make his return to play plan public? Take the onus off the club and onto the JUH camp.

If he can’t deliver on the plan then other clubs won’t touch him.

The narrative needs to be that the club has given him every opportunity.
Think that is already pretty clear no? Club has been aligned saying he cannot even be considered for senior selection until he re-engages at training first, then the VFL and only then could he play.

The media and social media glare (including here on BF) is already way too intense. Why invite more attention and commentary?

Politics 101. If there’s an unfavourable story say as little as possible and lie low. It’ll eventually blow over. The media stories will run dry and they’ll move onto something else.

Besides, there are inevitably personal matters involved which will take much longer to resolve under the media spotlight. Jamarra deserves a bit of respite from that if there’s going to be any chance of getting things back on track.

Because as soon as the time line starts slipping back it just gives the media more ammunition. It may put more pressure on Jamarra (which although some may say is a good thing isn't constructive to any possible positive outcome) but it'll also put the club under the spot light aswell. There isn't really a winning situation here, not until and if Jamarra actually does start playing, even if it is only VFL.
