I think the worst part of that performance is just how unnecessary it was. This is not a quality team that will bounce back. This is a team that is finished. We ignored that and they put out the same performance as Port.

Good:

Hamill - the kid looks like he'll be an absolute jet if he can keep the confidence up.
McAsey - Got a bath, made some mistakes, but kept his head up. Kids got a good head on his shoulders.
Doedee - Ok we can now say confidently that the ACL hasn't ruined him. Was a rock.

I liked Keays last quarter, kicked an excellent goal in particular. Still, I'm not sure if he'll make it. Gets two more games for me.
Jones has some excellent core strength, but really just had a dirty game.
McHenry struggled, but honestly, I'd have him ruck roving next week. He was hungry in the last quarter.
Fogarty - Kicked a nice goal but he wasn't going to do anything this game.

Bad:
ROB - got slaughtered by one of the best rucks in the league.

The rest, I can't be bothered writing about. That said, what is startling is just how we're not a team. There is no happiness, excitement etcetera. A big challenge for Nicks and another sign that we're overrun by self centred senior players who are here for a paycheck.

Macasey was good, King is a beast and will be a gun but he fought well.
Hamill showed dash that we sorely need. All 4 must play the rest of the season.

Smith, Seed, Laird, Muphy all have ????'s, with Atkins injury do we make 5 changes? probably not.
Not sold on Keays, but Crocker might be OK in the small forward.

ROB needs to improve his tap work, when he wins it is rarely to our advantage. Big reason we are smashed in the contest.

Oh and another good, Draft Picks , if we do lose Crouch, perfect year to lose him just hope we can find a Rowell, so so good. And to think at one stage he was looking to be a Crow, Bloody Carlton.

But we need to play him because he is the future of our defence. He is good enough, his junior year showed this.
Just needs a couple of summers in the gym.
Fans need to lay off and be patient.

Finally biting the long overdue bullet and recognising how much we've thrown into that gaping hole of a sunk cost fallacy and using the pick to start again will be the first sign the club has started to turn around.

Might even tidy up our forward entries with some movement up there.

Completely agree, he'll learn a lot from it. Bad day for him but far from all his fault. Plus King is probably going to be a damn good player, shown heaps in his games to date.

He will be a replacement for Talia, a lock-down defender on the opposition best forward who can read the play better than Talia to allow him to take more intercept mark and better disposal by foot to setup attacks.

EXACTLY. Gees use your brains, watch and 'understand" the game. After 1/4 time he did some good things and started to lay in front towards the end and contests. Save your anger for the senior players or just learn something about the game.
