I just did a quick search and found too many threads to list

This discussion has been going on for years now with the bears jumper, heritage round, the yellow clash strip, the white clash strip etc etc

To any new comers to this board be they Bears, Fitzroy or Brisbane Lions please take the time to have a read of some of the threads listed below and do your own searches as well.

Then and only then if you have something "new" to add to the discussions please do so.

alternate strip

Alternate Guernsey

Poll on clash jumpers

Clash Jumper or Away Jumper - White Guernsey Rubbish

New Brisbane Clash jersey

"Lions to develop clash guernsey"

Has the crapness of the white clash jumper been explored in a thread before?

hmm (thinking thinking thinking) nah never!!

If not, i'll go on the record and say I don't like it. In fact I hate it. In fact I would prefer we played skins.

Hmm shirts off instead of the white jumper - now there's a new idea!!

I'm one of the minority who don't actually mind the white stripe, it's flashy. What is with so many AFL players playing with their socks up? Socks down is the fashion gents.

White strip has to go, but I am in favour of having some alternate strip, be it white, whatever, but for only those two or three clash games we encounter, Adelaide, Melbourne and Essendon all away. I think the members should be consulted via a poll or something of a few designs, if it happens.

It might not be popular with supporters but i like the white strips a s a clash jumper maybe we could bleach the urine stain out. I think its great to have modern jumpers however they should be only used if needed. All for the roys jumper in melb.

Something I posted on one of the many other Jumper Debates.

If we wear the Fitzroy jumper once or twice a year in Melbourne I will have no issues.

this thread was started merely as a pointer to newcomers etc that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum and there have been a billion (ok I exagerate) threads started on the subject, not as yet another thread for discussion of said topic.

as in my first post..........

only if you have something "new" to add to the discussions please do so.

thanks

Clash jumper on special on the Lions AFL shop Website. I wonder if this is a sign that in 2008 we will be wearing a different clash jumper at the least?

No. Any new design has to be approved by the AFL and it is a long process. Although the Vodafone logo will be slightly different.

No worries Daniel.

They also have the media cap on special as well if anyone is looking for a new hat.

Should The Lions Wear Fitzroy Jumper For Melbourne based Games?

i was in strong favor of this being a Fitzroy supporter all my life it was sad not to see the original jumper in action again except for the heritage round in recent seasons... & i am sure it would get alot of the old fans in attendance too down here :thumbsu:

what does everyone think of this?

also i remember i heard earlier this year after the win at Subiaco the club was contemplating this? does anyone know if its going to go ahead or?

cheers!

I'm all for it. Would be a great initiative by the club to placate old Fitzroy supporters.

I'm not all that hopefull of it happening however as I feel it was only considered due to the Lions losing membership. With the form they showed this year and the exciting football they're bound to be playing the next year and beyond the Lions will again have many of the QLD bandwagoners jump back on board $$$again.

Hopefully this public poll stays up. This is a football forum/discussion board after all. But there are some here that are rather sick of this issue. Though I suspect they are in the most part those that have no wish to see the Lions play in the Fitzroy jumper in Melbourne so they of course have their reasons for wanting to marginalise such discussions.

Hops in my foxhole and dons my flackjacket and helmet

Re: Should The Lions Wear Fitzroy Jumper For Melbourne based Games?

No. I support the Brisbane Lions, not the Fitzroy Lions. I don't mind it as a potential clash guernsey, but I do mind wearing it when we could instead wear our real guernsey. Same as my objection when we wore our clash against Adelaide in a home game this season.

No we shouldn't.

Re: Should The Lions Wear Fitzroy Jumper For Melbourne based Games?

the Lions should wear it as their clash guernsey full time. not just Melbourne away games.

get rid of that white one.

edit. oops had a typo which has been kindly pointed by dlanod. i meant clash guernsey not away.

And you guys could wear a Norwood one! That would be so awesome LOLZOR.

That white one's a clash guernsey only, not a full-time "away" one. Come back when you actually know what we wear.

Re: Should The Lions Wear Fitzroy Jumper For Melbourne based Games?

Considering we're losing more and more games from Melbourne, why not?

Within a couple of seasons we'll be travelling back to Melbourne as much as Perth or Adelaide!

If the AFL **** North Melbourne over the greedy bastards will then be licking their lips having the Lions play what could have been an away game in Melbourne at Carrara.

For the AFL television $$$coverage in SE QLD trumps old Fitzroy supporters in Victoria.
