The Killers - Day & Age

Loved Tranquilize off their Sawdust album. Am a huge fan, and have spent many lazy afternoons with Sam's Town on in the background.

I am looking forward to this album.

it's a big album for them. a couple of solid to decent albums but both albums have LOADS of filler on them IMO.

They're status as one of the world big band's is based upon a couple of catchy singles - i'm pretty sure Read My Mind is their lowest selling single but it's easily they're best song. I reckon it's actually one of the best songs of the last couple of years.

A good album here will bring a lot of new fans on board, but another album along the same as Hot Fuss and Sam's Town and they could well lose a lot of fans due to a lack of variety and depth....

Hot Fuss & Sam's Town were massively different though; which is why Sam's Town took a while to sink it with most people.

Read My Mind was probably my favourite track from Sam's Town, then 'River is Wild' - but Mr BrightSide is still their best song, and one of the best for the last decade.

I don't think there is much filler on either of those Albums; there are probably only 1 or 2 songs that I'd skip through.

Can't wait for this new album - the reality is, SawDust, a CD of B-Sides, is better than a hell of a lot of albums that most bands would release.

Agree that it is a big album for the band. They could go in any of a multitude of directions. Very important that they evolve (and successfully) rather than backtrack to what they've been doing previously.

Sam's Town > Hot Fuss for me, but happy for others to differ. I think Sam's Town is a better listen from start to finish, bar a couple of tracks.

Doesn't get any better than When You Were Young.

I didn't like Sam's Town as much as Hot Fuss, in saying that, Read My Mind is my 2nd fave Killers song behind All These Thing That I've Done.

Andy, You're A Star is another favourite :thumbsu:

Wow, very different is all I can say. Got a bit of a "dance" music feel about it.

Sounds pretty good though, will need to get a few more listents into me first .

That's the one I have. My mate got it off iTunes(Sawdust) and I scored it off him.

You have already made your point, why do you feel the need to keep saying it?

Back on topic, I am really enjoying Spaceman at the moment.

It's a very good song isn't it, just builds & builds its way to the chorus, and for mine, the "Mr Brightside" of the album.

So far, most reviews have really pumped this album up, can't wait to let it rip on Saturday.
