I just saw there's a rumoured Nigel Mansell Williams F1 car that looks to be the same scale and set up (ie. with a stand) as the Ayrton Senna McLaren. It's not the iconic car/driver I would've chosen, but from a purely aesthetic perspective it'll look incredible next to the Mclaren.

There may even be more - Lego recently announced an expanded partnership with F1, and said that it will embrace all teams. I suspect you may see Speed Champions sets of all current teams and more sets like the Senna/Mansell ones.

Personally I find them a bit samey to build - just like the prototypes I guess, so that's to be expected. They do look good on display though, with the possible exception of Lego's stubbornness with the tyres. I hope that gets sorted.

I was always a big Williams fan in the late 90s so might get that one!

Gone and bought the Mos Eisley cantina from EBay, found a 15% off sale and thought probably better than hoping it comes back in stock before the end of the year at LEGO stores as it’s retiring this year.

Nearly bought all the Batmobile’s last night, decided to wait a day and the Tumbler which was really cheap at Big W went out of stock 😢😢

This is cool, I'm so happy that this is being made available with the Endurance. The fact they made a GWP of the heroic little lifeboat is very cool, and kind of has me considering it.

Yep, I suspect this is one that'll need staying up until midnight for 👍

And if I'm honest with myself, from an age perspective, I'm probably heading towards my tall ships era!

Even aside from the historical perspective of it, it looks awesome.

Built the Wreath this afternoon. Left me somewhat ambivalent - it looks good finished, but the build is underwhelming. Bags 1-4 are identical, each builds a quarter circle that provides the base. The manual then offers two configurations - a circular wreath or a one that joins the four bases in a line, that you might use as a table decoration. I built the latter. Bags 5-8 add the leaves and other decorations, and bag 9 the berries.

It's very sturdy, I imagine it would be fine to hang up (unlike the previous wreath set). The four base segments attach very firmly and most of the foliage is secured by ball joints and Technic pins. It's a little smaller than I was expecting and the foliage isn't particularly varied. It's also quite fiddly in parts, although of course the joints mean each leaf sub-assembly can be arranged in different orientations.

It's hard to display it in such a way to disguise all of the clips and fittings, I may need to modify that. Annoyingly it uses the dark grey ball/light grey socket for the ball joints, and many of these are visible in the finished product. I guess I might have to fiddle with it a bit more. For the price it would have been nice to see these in green or brown. The orange slices and cinnamon sticks are cute, but I must admit I've never seen either of these in a Christmas wreath before ;).

At $170 it's overpriced (1200 pieces, but many of these are small) and not recommended. I think there are better Christmas options out there - Santa's Post Office for example is available at the same price. If you're into Botanicals and a completionist I'd wait for a discount, I think I've seen it down to about $135.

Always get my stuff delivered to Mums as there is always someone home, but whenever she asks what it is I say nothing…

This time someone snooped and saw Lego, so she’s like oh here it is, now take your toy before the kids see it…

Just a random question, do you all like to keep the boxes? I was letting them pile up behind the bar, but they got cleaned out to use it the other day and can’t decide whether to put them back or toss them? Although it’s only really the Batcave so far that had a huge box, but my next few builds have large boxes.

I did then ir got out of hand so i bin all except the icon sets
My mum had a bin of late 70s to mid 80s Lego that me and my brother had but she gave it to one of her mate's kid when she moved house.

I initially threw out boxes until my mum asked why I was doing that in case I didn’t want the sets anymore. Now I keep all boxes - just flatten them which all go into a big cardboard box that was packaging for another set. With a bit of bending of some ends it seems to fit quite a few.
The titanic boxes are huge and they are flattened and put in a garbage bag. Not sure why I want to protect it so much as I will never part with that set.
All books and spare pieces are kept in a box.
