ok so i havent built anything except a couple of speed champs in 3 years
im due to do an ikea run for display stuff straight after xmas
so doing a fav build is a no go for me,
so ill do it a little diff:
fav purchase: prob the batmobile just because, well...look at it
wish i did buy this year: the tree house does look rather cool and is something different so that could have been a pretty cool set to get and you never know i may pick it up

There's something about holding a decades old first edition in your hands that no digital media can recreate.

i have two old ones from an old house i lived in as a child both dated around 1920ish, in fair condition for age but fragile, covers shot on one
have a copy of wuthering heights that has an xmas inscription in it from 1939 from memory
nothing first edition apart from a few Potters and prob some UFO books

Been very disappointed in my workplace, even at the Xmas party only half dressed in anything festive and I won best dressed by a mile with my matching shirt and shorts.

Was tempted to wear the old Christmas suit jacket and shorts tomorrow, but will go low key with just the Xmas shirt.

Christmas pjs would be epic

I've gone the (almost) full Santa this year. Pants, shoes, shirt and hat...... lost points for no beard.

That said there have been a few others do things at random - as in they've dressed normal 99% of the month. But that 1% they rocked up as The Grinch and not a cheap costume version either.

No grandkids and my nieces and nephews really don’t have an interest. They are gamers or on their phone.

This is where I fell down and didn’t do any forward thinking, my sister is a librarian so I should have bought something when they had the love of books GWP!

I love it but was so busy yesterday and today (Sunday and Monday). I still have a passion for making reading fun for children. You have to be a people person though.

I think being a librarian is like teaching which I consider both to be a vocation.

PS the Lifeboat is a simple build but very well designed. Not sure why it needed 5 bags. The Retro Record Player is nicely done too. Lots of character. Both very worthy GWPs.

There's an outside chance it comes back as a GWP if Lego still has stock, like other GWPs for this year. If you don't want to take that chance, it'll have to come from bricklink or elsewhere on the aftermarket. eBay prices currently range from $75 to $100 which I'm not sure is worth it. Much better options in the range at that price point.

i buy vinyl so thought it mightve been a cool addition to the collection, ill keep my eye out

Aha, yes, it is a miniature representation, unlike the Retro Radio. It was only a GWP after all.

Yeah very disappointing. I think what's happens is everyone all but sells out by Christmas, and they don't restock until after the January 1 releases.
