The Little Boris/Chicken Video Thread

We've had plenty of attempts at this thread, so let's try to discuss this topic without the hateful, sexually explicit and virulently misogynist comments and this thread won't be deleted.

Deal?

Thanks everyone.

From what I understand it was a parody of what Boris would get up to if the player who was meant to be in possession of him lost track of him.

Therefore I would suggest the video isn't advocating violence against women, it's actually showing it as a horrible thing to do (therefore the players shouldn't let Boris out of their sights).

My initial thought was it was a parody of the song and the Roos boys could get away with that excuse. Either way should not have got out into the public eye, but probably isn't as big as what it's been made out to be.

Another example of AFL PC gone mad

I dont care that much what NM players get up to in their spare time. Any probs that NM Cousins Didak Shaw etc have had just reflect what we see in the rest of the population. The media exploits this for their own benefit and profits, the Age of celebrity dominates all.

Get back to footy and stp wasting time chasing other peoples pecadillos

The fact that this is even an issue, let alone a scandal, proves how backwards society is.

If anyone is fooled into thinking that Adam Simpson and Dan Pratt were anything but embarrassed is kidding themselves. They were embarrassed because it was turned into a big deal. They STILL think its funny. Otherwise they wouldn't have done it. Every player involved probably thinks its hilarious, with good reason. They are regretful because its a big deal, not because they really think they degraded women.

Even as a North fan, I thought it was ridiculous that they came on the Footy Show to "clear things up". What did they have to clear up? They did a skit they thought was hilarious, and now they're apologizing over it?

If that skit found itself on a comedy sketch show or something, you wouldn't look twice at it. I understand stakeholders in the club and the league may be incensed, but sometimes...I don't even know how to finish up, its that ridiculous.

The best result would be for the players to retire, and the club to fold, and then we can all finally rest in peace knowing that we've appeased the AFL and the three women who watch ABC.

TV Producer makes movie that contains, Kids being murdered, Women r*ped, Animals being run over etc etc... released in Cinemas, makes a few million, gets a few plaudits, wins an Oscar or two. Demetriou and Co when released on DVD are one of the first to buy it.

A football club manages to create a little short film for in-house use only, involving inatimate object and a food item. Sure their creative expression is a bit warped, but seriously have seen more tragic things on Australia's funniest home videos (animals getting hurt and kids) and we laugh at that.

The stupidest thing these guys did is film parts of it in the club rooms to make people aware of its origins. If it was just a random youTube video with no club association it would still be up and number 1.

What determines whether this is a big deal or not is how Mazda reacts. If they don't see the funny side of it then their is no funny side of it for North, a club that can hardly afford to lose a major sponsor (not that it is likely to happen, mind you).

I can't believe this has been made into such a big issue by the Melbourne media.

Sometimes you feel they just want to invent a scandal so they have something to write about.

It was filmed with good intentions, a humourous video for private consumption. Featuring puppets.

How anyone can find that offensive is beyond me.

I have never seen something so terrible in all my life, I have booked myself into councelling to deal with the stress this video has put on me and my family and I can only imagine what the rest of society is going through.
My children and their Mother will be writing a please explain letter to Mr Demetriou insisting that all football games coverage be only broadcast from the waste up.
I think the AFL and in particular North Melbourne need to be penalised, maybe something like helping 50 old ladies across the street per player and we should broadcast that instead of a football game this weekend.

It is time the AFL and its clubs understood you just cannot go out and play a game of footy and then have some fun in your own time without running it past the Mummy's and kids of society.

These actions have to be stopped, society is being turned upside down by these hoodlum incosiderate fun loving football players.

I am stiil having nightmares for my wife and kids over this sick perverted disgusting video. I hope I can get passed it but I think the only thing that will really help me is if they bring in two more rule changes to the football this year, and I would also like to see the game policed much more firmly, maybe 6 central umpires. I am sure this will get me over this life troubling experience that has brought our family and more than likely society to its knees.

Storm in a teacup. It was bizarre seeing Brayshaw act apologetic when the show he hosts has worse material every week.

Have Phil Cleary or Patrick Smith recently been to any movies, listened to rap, or had a conversation in a pub? They seem to have a Victorian-era view of virtuous womanhood and expect women to be affronted by anything sexual. Women give birth FFS, and if anything they're more in tune in their bodies and sexuality than are men.

The few people, apart from media, who are offended by little Boris would be more offended by many many things in today's society.

I'm offended by the wowser Taliban.

This non-event has gone so far that it's beyond the joke now.
Seriously, What laws have they broken? What damage have they cause? Who have they harmed?
How ****ed up is society becoming down there that this is still bubbling at the forefront of the media to feed to the masses who are still gobbling (no pun intended) it up?
This has been the mother of all beat-ups.

The nanny state gone completly troppo. I have spoken to several women today at work and none of them find this video offensive.
OK, perhaps they should not have made it in the NMFC rooms but this is really is a media witch hunt driven by a minority claiming the moral high ground.
So, can anyone explain why it is a rabbit that lays Easter eggs and not a chook?

So a rubber chicken with a condom over it goes into a supermarket and buys a chicken. Then picks it up at a bar. Then goes into a locker room and find it in a locker (i assume it then performs a 'sexual act' on the chicken?)?????

They're just ****heads for thinking that is funny in the first place.

So, you and your mates dont have any 'in-jokes', I presume? Out of context, the movie isnt that funny. But obviously, there's subtext to the movie, and that is found in Boris the rubber chicken. The NMFC boys obviously didnt just sit around and think 'let's get a rubber chicken and film it masquerading around the club'. I assume, without knowing for sure, that Boris is a gag given to players to look after if they muck up.

It's stupid, possibly funny if you understand the subtext and context, but hardly offensive.

Will Boris line up at FF this week?

Am i the only one that doesn't think this is slightly over done?

I haven't seen the full video but where exactly does it degrade women?
Boris could be gay?
