Great post...
He's only saying it because the MCG isn't in Perth.

Great post...
I really dont like that design. Looks like its made out of that old game "pick up sticks". pretty ugly actually.
He's only saying it because the MCG isn't in Perth.
Where ever you go you are going to have a biased answer... Those that follow the other 3 football codes will probably tell you that Suncorp Stadium is the best stadium in Australia
Suncorp Stadium? mwauhahahahahaha
Thanks for providing me with a laugh, when i'm crook today charliemurphy
Go to England people will say Wembley (even with the double budget and ten million years late)
Go to Germany and people will say the olympic stadium or the new ufo one.
Or to America and people will say Ford Field or one of those massive college joints like the collesium or the buck eyes joint.
Everywhere you go your going to get bias with a topic like this.
The MCG just seems to hold onto crowd sounds. When you hear the cry of "BAAAALLLLLL .... YEEAAAHHHH" it is like it shakes your bones. In big games the crowd numbers are always evenly split. I've been to a few stadiums around the world and there is nothing like it.
Gabba is a far better footy stadium than the MCG - barely a poor seat in the house whilst there are literally 10,000s of bad ones at the MCG
Ive been to 4 GFs and every single time I would've been better off watching it in the pub
When you see the Allianz stadium like that, gee it looks shit hot but at the end of the day, you don't go to a stadium to look at its facade, its the action inside.
Not in a position to judge if its the best in the world, but the G is a bloody great stadium and with it (Hopefully) filled to the brim tomorrow, the roar of the crowd just after the last post is someting to behold.
A stadium is not about its looks, rather the experience you have there...
It's actually a pretty good stadium that one. I was very impressed watching A league soccer there last year. Dunno why they didnt chuck a roof on it, but anyway.
But, it's tiny, half the size of the G. Impossible to compare really. As they all are. The G is the biggest, half of it the newest with a long, long history. Dont think anything can come close in this country from those factors alone.
What makes a great stadium exactly?
The Gabba
Your kidding Right! Its the Dullest stadium going around. Atmosphere is non existent when teh footy is on. Tesltra Stadium in Sydney is miles ahead of the gabba, and still miles behind The G
Cause it's the only one that can cater for it besides Telstra Stadium. Even Telstra Stadium would struggle and it would only work if Sydney were a competing side. What other stadium in Australia can fit in the 70,000 corporate mugs that the Grand Final attracts? None. Why ?
Without doubt, it has to be the best stadium in Australia and maybe one of the best in the World...
Other AFL grounds are expanding, and good to see, but they will always lack the charisma of the Mighty MCG.
I preferred Moorabbin, especially when they forgot to turn the sprinklers off on the Friday night.
The MCG is for poonces: cushioned seats, self-contained urinals, cafe lattes, salad foccacias, hot showers for the players and two TV screens for instant replay.
Moorabbin was for real men: crushed gravel to stand on, overflowing piss troughs, tins of beer to chuck at Gary Sidebottom, cold meat pies, cold showers and a punch in the head if you looked sideways in the animal enclosure.
