lol a Carlton supporter calling a team that finished top 4 last year as rubbish, talk about the most delusional supporters on the planet.

Our strength in 2007 was our midfield, thus it is underrated. Lets see, did we make the top four due to our stunning forward line or backline? We had no key forwards, no key defenders yet we sailed past 12 other sides thanks to our midfield.

It's good to see some recognition for the clubs midfield. Throw in Lower (you'll see this year who he is) and a few of our younger guns, and we'll be going all right. Rawlings is arguably one of the best taggers, and is possibly the best tagger for the "slower ball winning mid like West and Corey." We need some more consistancy in Wells and hopefully Sam Power can step up this year, and add to the outside mid role that we need. Admittedly, we did get run of our feet in the two big finals matches, but our players are much fitter now, and they have more of a target to kick to up forward. Exciting times. Also good to see the recognition for Harris, one of BF most underrated players.

Definately a good group of ball winners, but I think it's a midfield lacking a touch of class.

The inside capabilities of Harris, Harvey, Rawlings, Simpson and Swallow are magnificent, one of the best groups of inside players in the league, but Harvey and Wells are the only guys to play consistently through the midfield with dash and class in my opinion.

Jesse Smith may step up to more midfield work in 2008, and Shannon Grant may return from the forward line, but that, at the moment, is speculation.

It's a midfield that needs more class and pace to complement it's hardness before it can be rated in the upper echelon of midfields in the competition as far as I'm concerned.

How do you come to this conclusion? The fact that they came 10th last year? Their midfield is alright but is not up there with geelong/port/hawks/saints. The only thing that has changed from last year is they got TJ and he is unpredictable at best.

Its ok to be worried.

freo's midfield isn't underrated it's just not that great. definitely its achilles heel. not enough players who can run the lines and deliver well (lots of players can do one but not the other).
