I don't know what to make of these 2 paragraphs.

They mention a car leaving at 4.30am and in the next paragraph say Justin Stein drove to Penrith to speak with police.

Are they suggesting Stein left at 4.30 to drive to Penrith? Did Stein go looking her and when he couldn't find her, kept going to Penrith.

Why did he go to Penrith police station? Was there nowhere closer or was he directed to go there for some reason?

"Neighbours told police they saw a car leaving the property without headlights on at about 4.30am on Friday, The Daily Telegraph reports.

According to the publication, Mr Stein drove to Penrith on Friday to speak with police."

With the last sighting on the Thursday afternoon, I think she has taken off and her not usual guardians have let her go thinking she will just come back when it gets dark. She probably wanted to go back home to Grandma or something which would be a common for a kid in this situation.

Wouldn't she just head down the road?

Could be a scenario, there's a lot of conflicting information coming out which I guess is good as police are covering all bases.

One minute homicide squad are at the property and testing boats and cars, diving the Hawkesbury in Windsor and the couple have conflicting stories. The next minute (today) police are out saying the conditions have been mild enough for her to survive in the outdoors and they will continue to search the area surrounding the property etc.

I guess NSW police have learnt from the Tyrell case and aren't excluding any possibility? Hard to tell

I can't imagine a 9 year old running away when she's so far from home.

Where would she be running to when it would be unfamiliar territory? She couldn't go to a friends place or her school or a park she knows.

Most 9 year olds would be too scared to take off especially once it was dark.

Anything's possible though and some 9 year olds are street smart.

She may have been there before. Why were they at a wedding venue? Was the mother working there?

The Stein family own the property, her fiance is a Stein with his brother and partner managing and developing the business.

It's really going to complicate the investigation if there was a function that night or paying guests staying over. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that though.

They think she's still alive? Asking media to leave the property and child protection workers have arrived.

"Officers swooped on the venue at about 11.30am on Monday morning, and police ordered the media to 'leave, now!' from outside the gates of the retreat - moments after plain clothes child protection squad officers drove into the property."

I can't imagine them allowing social workers in child protection on to a crime scene when NSW police have their own specialists. They've found something imo, not necessarily Charlise.

A bit more detail.

The property – described on its website as one of the most “breathtaking and memorable” event locations – is owned by Mr Stein’s family.

It was developed into a wedding venue by Justin’s brother James Stein Jr and his husband Keegan Buzza, who until last May worked as a senior media adviser for then minister for industry, science and technology Karen Andrews.

Sydney Swans player Buddy Franklin and his wife Jesinta tied the knot there in a private ceremony in 2016.

Charlise was just five when her mother was sentenced to three years and four months jail in 2017 after attempting to overtake a semi-trailer in northeastern NSW, resulting in the death of her friend, Karen Bunch.

At her sentencing hearing in November 2017, Kallista Mutten told the court she was using “two to three points a day” of the drug ice to help her cope with life.

It can also be revealed that Mr Stein was sentenced to four months’ imprisonment in 2016 for property theft. He also pleaded guilty to possessing ice in 2015 and was fined $1000.

The Australian is not suggesting either of the pair are under the influence of any illicit substances, or that they are involved in her disappearance.

Don’t do anything wrong, folks, because one day the media will ferret out every detail from your disreputable past and splash it all over the internet whether it’s relevant to the present situation or not 😞

Detectives are treating the disappearance of missing nine-year-old girl Charlise Mutten as a possible homicide - with officers today spending five hours scouring the property she disappeared from.
The search was tonight hampered by heavy rain, forcing SES and RFS volunteers to wind up their search ahead of what would be Charlise's fifth night missing in the mountains.

Investigators ordered the media to 'leave, now!' from outside the gates on Monday morning - moments after plain clothes child protection squad officers drove into the property.

A police bus followed by unmarked police cars rolled through the gates as a uniformed officer stood guard.

They stayed at the property for five hours before leaving that afternoon.
Neither Charlise’s mother Kallista Mutten, nor her stepfather, Justin Stein, have been able to tell police definitively what the schoolgirl was wearing when she was last seen on the verandah of the Wildenstein property last Thursday afternoon.

Ms Mutten is not believed to have given a formal interview yet, despite expectations she would be spoken to today.

When I saw 'child protection workers' earlier I understood it as being social workers not police members but now they're reporting as 'squad' I think that means specialists investigating possible child abuse.
