From a DNC rules/logistics standpoint, the only way they can 'replace' Biden is if Biden himself withdraws, meaning the primaries that have been held are essentially now null and void. They cannot forcefully replace Biden without breaking DNC rules. Biden has to voluntarily withdraw.

What happens then is that the Democratic National Convention on August 22 (in Chicago) is what is known as a 'brokered' or 'open' convention, where the the DNC delegates can elect a Presidential nominee of their choosing. For what it's worth, this hasn't happened since 1952. So it's fair to say that it's rare.
Chicago hey. I knew some people who were in Chicago for the 1968 primary.

I understand the mechanism, but what’s being suggested is parachuting an unelected person in. I believe that’s never been done.
Surely after Clinton/Bernie debacle they wouldn’t..

If it's not Biden, then it doesn't matter who they select, they will technically be "unelected".

Kamala's name isn't on the Primary ballots and if Biden stays in she wont officially be the 2024 nominee for Vice President until the convention.

So even if he withdraws and Kamala becomes the nominee she will be an "unelected" nominee.

Come on, you’re being obtuse again, Kamala was elected DA for Cali before becoming a senator.

Yeah, she was also 'elected' as a Senator and 'elected' as Vice President. Just like Bernie has been 'elected' as a Senator many, many times.

Are you saying only someone who has previously held an elected office would count as an 'elected' nominee if they replace Biden? Because those prior elections are irrelevant when it comes to being selected as a party's nominee for President. Only the Primaries for that election cycle would count.

Unless I'm not understanding the point you're trying to make?

Other way round. “Britain has been forced to clarify it has not given permission for Ukraine to use Storm Shadows to strike inside Russia in an awkward diplomatic moment for Sir Keir Starmer.”

Maybe a desperate Zelensky tried to bounce an inexperienced new PM into allowing it hey.

Yeah you know kind of like the America system, they elect everyone into positions of power.

Those "local" cops are British, they answer to the Poms are just the RUC with a different name and badge.

To be fair, there's more Catholics in the RUC now but they do still answer to the Crown under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement

Not always.

Gerald Ford became President without ever being elected as a nominee or VP.

Quite the sweeping statement there. Even the RUC in its early days till they were disbanded in the early 2000's had catholics & nationalists in their ranks.

Rebranded not disbanded and they are still a police force run by the UK.

The highest number of Catholics in the RUC was immediatley after partition, when RIC men from the south fled to Ulster.

By the time the serious fighting erupted again in the late 1960s, there were negligible amounts (maybe 10 per cent) and once things really kicked off in the early 70s, it was seen as a sectarian enforcement body, not a police force.

The IRA habit of killing any Catholic who joined to reinforce their role as "police" certainly contributed.
