Don't ask me what I'm doing on a Richmond page, and certainly don't ask me what I'm doing on Reddit, but this is peak nuff behaviour

I don't get much gossip but I have heard from a friend that Razor isn't actually too popular with his colleagues. Not that they hate him or anything, but apparently most (or at least a sizeable number) of them do think that his flair for the dramatic and willingness to do media has actually made the rest of their jobs a bit harder. When the bloke who seems to get the most attention outside of the game is also mediocre at his job and a wee bit of an attention seeker then it rubs off on the rest of them.

About the only person who would call Razor a rockstar is BT, who seems the most willing of any commentator to take directives from AFL house and then run so hard with them as to almost come out the other side.

Fair enough. Personally I don't mind him and respect the fact that he talks honestly about the job and spewing before games due to nerves and stuff like that. Takes guts to project that out into the public domain.

I don't think he's bad at the job either, all things considered. But can see how his persona could make the other umps feel a bit iffy. Either way, the mental image of an umpire who needs to look out for a million different things, consciously changing his whistle tone depending on the team that the call corresponds to, is spectacular

It was probably the greatest comment I've ever seen about umpires.
