I wish him luck…he’s a very honest footballer and l can’t see why he won’t do well in the VFL system..
Club ensuring that Finn has someone else as well maybe. Or they want to confuse the opposition with the quartet of O’Sullivans…..either way lm stoked my little patch is producing another footballer….
But l digress…he has all the tools and has earned this on merit….I wish him well and geez it would be amazing if he did a Mickey Barlow… 👏🍺

The vfl list seems a tad undersized, but we’ve gotten some good vfl flanker and midfield players.
Should be a lot of taller AFL-listed players getting regular VFL games. Maley, Goad, Dawson, Dawson, Pink, CCJ, and Teakle are all likely to play significant matches at that level.

Fair assessment, not much tall depth other than Lachlan Wynd and Adrian Cole who are both pretty raw.

Another ruck and key forward would be bloody handy
Maybe Hugh Byrne too, if the rumour is true.

From the December VFL praccy (Goulburn Footy League Thread)

"I just wandered down to Arden Street to watch North Melb v Williamstown, in a 4 X 20-minute game. The sides had mostly players trying to get on a list. It is fair to say Hugh Byrne (North) was BOG easily!

Not so worried about the talls at this level. Easy to forget that Sellers (and Biggie) were senior listed and have been replaced by Darling and Whitlock. So we're way ahead on that one. Also last year we only had Teakle and (a fit) Logue for the 2nd half of the season. Just need to keep the number of senior listed players playing VFL high.

Laz and Watkins are big losses to the midfield.
Sellers can be covered as he did nothing after his afl debut.

Clarko's boy has also joined.

He was linked with an SSP trial at West Coast Eagles and Gold Coast, and with Collingwood and Sandringham in the VFL.
But Adam Tomlinson has landed at North Melbourne VFL, continuing the influx of former AFL players to the state league since the end of last season.
Tomlinson began training with the VFL Roos last week and took part in match simulation with the AFL squad yesterday at Arden St.
The 31-year-old played 185 games, 140 with GWS and 45 with Melbourne, before being cut by the Demons last October.
He expressed hope he could find his way to a third AFL club but nothing has eventuated.
Tomlinson was a Giants foundation player and crossed to Melbourne in 2020.
An ACL injury in 2021 meant he missed the Demons’ premiership but he played in Casey’s flag in 2022.
Last year he had eight AFL appearances with Melbourne and dominated at VFL level, averaging 24 possessions from nine matches.

It’s been a busy off-season for North Melbourne, bringing in former Gold Coast Sun Darcy Macpherson and his brother Ewan, delisted Saint Olli Hotton, ex-Hawk Jack O’Sullivan, Sandringham’s Oliver Lowe, Sandringham Dragons graduates and premiership players Adrian Cole, Sam Linder and Nathaniel Sulzberger, and Casey Demon Oscar Van Dam.

More Coverage

Matthew Clarkson, the son of North AFL coach Alastair, has switched from Richmond.

The Roos have also latched on to Koroit’s Paddy O’Sullivan, the brother of their high draft pick Finn.
Former AFL players to join the VFL in the off-season include Dyson Heppell (Port Melbourne), Curtis Taylor (Collingwood), Jack Bytel (Coburg), Riley Bonner (Casey Demons), Francis Evans (Carlton), Lachie Gollant (Williamstown), Will Hamill (Frankston), Nathan Kreuger (Geelong), Charlie Lazarro (Port Melbourne), Hewago Paul Oea (Southport), Ethan Phillips (Carlton), Ethan Stanley (Box Hill Hawks) and Tex Wanganeen (Port Melbourne).

Watching him go about his business yesterday, he's going to be huge for our VFL team.

He was quite imposing in his manner, barking instructions etc...I wonder if he's looking at a coaching role in his next phase?

I reckon Tomlinson would’ve come over because of his closeness with Aidan Corr, they’ve been good mates since being drafted to GWS.
Have to imagine the pitch involved moving up through the coaching program that clarko and viney are building. Lienert was a similar win at the time. It's a bullish sign for how the club is now being perceived within the industry, with the canary being macpherson rejecting an afl spot 2 years ago and accepting a vfl spot today (context notwithstanding).

Personally speaking, I suspect elements of playing leadership (that we don't necessarily have access to as fans) have contributed to off-field outcomes we've achieved, and certain on-field leaders should hopefully be respected as north men who did what they could to be the glue for a platform to grow a culture from
