Who from your team is gonna absolutely blow the competition away in 2009?

Tigers and Blues fans are probably the worst at this as they actually believe they have decent youth who will eventually bring them a flag. So here is your chance to massively overrate them without being cut to pieces for your horribly incorrect predictions.

I'll get started:

HAWTHORN

Mitch Thorp:
20 year-old CHF who is apparently as talented, arrogant and difficult to get along with as the great Wayne Carey. If you thought Buddy had an arrogant strut, wait till you see Mr. Thorp on the field. He will mark everything in sight, kick goals from 80m out and will eventually prove to be a better player than Joel Selwood as we build our Centre-Half-Forwardline around this man mountain.

Max Bailey:
Had some bad luck with injuries but I can guarantee you he will become the next Dean Cox. He's the 2nd tallest bloke in the league, he has amazing athleticism, a great leap, can take a pack mark and will be the only player in the league to actually beat Sandilands at hitouts.

Brendan Whitecross:

Michael Voss rated this kid as the best player to come out of Queensland in a long time, and considering he just oozes class, is tough at the footy and has serious pace, we could be looking at the next Ben Cousins (minus the love for hard drugs). He will probably come in next year and play as a half forward and I would expect him to win the Rising Star Award due to his immense talent

Beau Dowler:
The next Adam Goodes. 195+cm Dowler can play as a key forward or a tall wingman and it's the latter that he'll probably find a spot in our team. This kid is gonna be the 2nd hardest match-up in the league (behind Franklin) and he's finally been able to put together a full season without being restricted by injuries.

And the rest of our young crop are all guns too like Travis Tuck, Josh Kennedy, Jarryd Morton, Cam Stokes, Beau Dowler and Ben McGlynn.

We are gonna be awesome

Nathan Djerrkura
The 20 year old midfield/utility dynamo, like a cross between Greg Williams and Michael Long will literally change the game by making taggers redundant... no one will be able to catch him. A solid for MVP, Brownlow and all the paper's awards.

Dan McKenna
The 19 year old boy mountain with the speed of a gazelle has an amazing genetic match with Lance "Buddy" Franklin... his parents are also fat boguns without access to soap. Will romp past Hamburger Hawkins to singlehandedly fix every Geelong forward problem

Shane "Tutenkahmen" Mumford
Having already debuted, The Mummy has already been told that he's now Ottens understudy and that Blake will be traded off to the Dogs for a nice draft pick... ala Street. Having put on an amazing 30Kgs since August, the Mummy will introduce his new maneover - "The Smother" on Hawk greenbean Susan Renouf in R1

Brent Harvey
Just about to hit his straps as an on baller after serving his apprenticeship in the forward line over the last 11 years. Could be a gun

Shannon Watt
Tall athletic running player who can play either reserves or on the bench. Built like Goodes.

Leigh Brown
Has yet to establish himself since crossing over from WA about 7 years ago but due to his rugged good looks was given a game to pretty up the team. Has been training down the place over the last 2 hours

Shannon Grant
Finally starting to show some form and with a solid pre season in the local pub, aims to tip over more port-a-loos this coming year.

Jess Sinclair
Recruited because of his blonde hair, he is set to to have a break through year on the surfing circuit.

Big year coming up for the Roos me thinks:thumbsu:

Jump on Dangerfield for the Brownlow right now :thumbsu:

And put all your money on Matthew Scarlett for the Coleman while you're at it.

Time to admit Crow fans that you should have taken either Rioli or Ebert instead of Rodney. Why are your first round picks always so crap?

We like to give all you other jokers a chance. Do you have any idea how dominant we'd be with a competent recruiting department??
Or forward line...

05/06 back to back again...

Ebert we didnt need, the choice was between Rioli and Dangerfield for the type of player we need.

Geelong's Pick 15:

Rising Star 2009 coming up for this kid. Will kick 25 goals and average 13 touches as a first year player in the forward line, will be discussed as AA possibility in the media, and as an AA certainty on the Geelong board - only to miss out.

Possibly turn the 2009 GF on it's head too I assume.;)

Matty Westhoff to put on 26kg over the off season and be the next Jonothan Brown. You heard it here first folks.

More seriously, Nick Salter is a strong mark and has two career goals, both kicked from outside 50. Look for him to get more of a game next year and make our forward line more dangerous than it was in 07.

We've got a kid called Cyril Rioli who shows some promise.........

Jett and Ayce Buckley.
in a controversial move, we'll play both in the guts for rnd 1. despite ayce's relative lack of strength and size, (he'll be 8 months old) the pies expect him to switch hit between a dominant midfield role and a lead up full forward.
whilst jett, now into his 3rd year of life, is a beast. natural leaping ability and a head worse then his dads. we'll win the next 25 premierships off the back of these kids, with dad as coach and Tania making sandwiches.
well done to the buckleys.
