This is a stark reminder what happens when football clubs propped up by governments all of a sudden find that the government is no longer interested in supporting them.

Xi is now bored with football in China and has moved on. These are clubs that get reasonable sized crowds unlike Saudi Pro league. A similar fate awaits Saudi clubs when MBS decides sports washing an entire league is no longer in his interests.

What are you even on about. They're not government owned and never were. Evergrande collapsed as everyone knows and they were the owner.
