The majority of early AIDS victims in the US were homosexual, which is because many of them had remarkable numbers of different sexual partners (500+ a year in some cases). Indeed, it was originally called GRID - Gay-Related Immunodeficiency Disease.

perhaps the contraceptive pill is proving to be one right now with the number of younger women coming down with breast cancer
