The pocket I was in went mental when Goldy drilled that goal. Made sure he knew it was good when he was walking the boundry right after as well. Also did anyone see Lappin stacking at the start of the first quarter up the steps?

Great game and great crowd.

I stood up and screamed goldy when he was walking the boundary, and the rest of them followed with cheers. Great goal by the big man.

Classic stuff boys, keep it up.

Yeah, you realy kept that G. Ablett (traitor?!!) guy out of the action, or was it the coaches, the rotations (he played half a game), and the fact that it was a GLORIFIED PRACTICE MATCH?

The Cats hit the pedal and North were lost. The cats took the foot off the pedal and North scraped in.

No doubt you have some great young talent, but really....

Oh and what a turn out.

While you have the Geelong folk firing up the internet generators so you can serenade us with your football soliloquies, who is minding the General Store?

Look mate we all appreciate it's only February but we saw a young group of players topple the Premiers missing no more than a couple guns, give us a break and let us enjoy it.

And if you think Geelong weren't bothered, perhaps take a look at Ablett's response to Podsiadly's goal late in the third and tell me he didn't care which way the game fell.

Personally i'm just wrapped I get to see the lads broadcasted again next week.

Sorry but it was the other way round.

North took their foot off.

You would think a few premierships in the last few years would stop the DH's from posting on here....oh well...

G Ablett.

Wo gives a ****.

Flash Campbell was an absolute gun in that last qtr and a half.

I wondered why WoJo seemed a little emotional.

Momentum swings occur in footy. Our pressure was excellent throughout the game, for the most part. All stats were almost even. We won the glorified practice game. Now 'sorf :thumbsu: See you in the real stuff later on.

how many times ablett tried to take us on, back under the laidley era we would corale him, not under scott, we went for the hips and drilled the bald headed traitor

Having said that, did anyone else sense the cracks forming at sleepy hollow as Gazza's team mates were possibly slightly less inclined to protect the anointed one? Like when the Priest absolutely pile drove him into the turf, not one Geelong player came in to remonstrate. They soooooooooo know he's wearing the red and gold budgie smugglers next year.

The greatest display of passion I witnessed for the arvo was in the vacinity of Aisle 34. Passionate gathering there I tells ya!

On Gazza, I think I heard the runner tell him to "stay between the flags" at one point.

Obviously that loss hurt you or you wouldn't offer up such a bitter post. Better luck next time champ.

Nice shot Jebus.:thumbsu:

Sounds like it was a fantastic time at Idiot Stadium. Unfortunately I missed it as I was working today (and when I get the chance to earn more than twice what I earn in a week from my day job for half a day of photography I'm not going to pass it up).

That goal from Goldy certainly got the juices flowing.

I was buzzing so much during half time after what I had witnessed. 3/4 time, obviously more nervous, but **** it was certainly one enjoyable day at the footy.

A complete contrast to this time last year.

Only 13,000 there today, but I reckon there was more passion at the ground today than we've seen for ages.

I know, it's just a preseason game, and our kids, beaten up hard today, will be hard pressed next week to back that up, but there was just something about that performance that had North fans buzzing.

From the first bounce, the midfield looking tight, and fast. It attacked. It moved the ball. It didn't dutifly stand by its man, it forced them to come to us.

It looked classy, it looked formidable. It looked like... Geelong.

There were some pretty passionate cheers for the Bard as he left the field, you get the feeling the fans like what they saw of the team under his direction.

'New era, seems pretty apt right now.

Did anyone else feel it?

and you fail to mention not one nth player raise the ball over his head for a set play very very pleasing

I made a comment to Roogene and other admin staff (John Murphy, Adam Marinello, 'Super' Rob Burton) during the match along the lines of the North crowd being more passionate, loud and excited than at previous games.

It was impressive and very noticeable - great supporting all!

There was a lot to be excited about - pretty simple really! I sat in the cheer squad as always, and no-one had to push at any stage to get a forced shout going - the whole North crowd was the cheer squad, which is how it should be. Onfield and off-field it felt great to be part of, and the kind of thing people will want to be there for and join in. The result didn't matter, it was how those boys played - when they back themselves and trust each other like that, we all want to back them and trust them too.

Thats the thing it didnt really matter before the game if we won or lost It was just needing the boys to be competetive and showing improvement. To come away with a win was a huge bonus especially after we faded .I thought a young list like ours may get run over but they showed real guts to win. It's only preseason but it sets a standard early that we never give it in .
