This is the perfect plan for football,
Firstly, divide the nation into 3 pools according to state(the NSW and QLD teams play in the VIC pool because both teams have Victorians origins).
Then pay each Victorian, NSW and QLD club 50 million dollars to leave the AFL and seek a playing license with a new comp known as the Australian Football Association.
After the Vics, NSW and QLDers are in pay each WAFL(excluding Peel Thunder) and SANFL club 15 million dollars to leave their comp. Offer each one playing licenses in the AFA, all these teams go straight into their state pools. WCE, and Adelaide will not be offered licenses as they are franchises who have destroyed traditonal historic football. Now that the WAFL and SANFL clubs have all the money, and WCE and Adelaide no comp to play in all their players simply leave their clubs and go back to the local clubs thus leaving the franchises to die. No salary cap for first year, keep paying for the SANFL and WAFL clubs until they can support themselves.
So we are left with 3 pools with about 30 clubs (give or take a few) each year the top 2 clubs from each pool play off for the premiership.
This plan restores football to its traditional, historical purpose, it restores local teams with real history as compared to the non-existent history of the current state franchises. This plan rescues football and it destroys the AFL.
NB: Port Adelaide would be offered a license in the new comp, Fremantle wouldnt be offered a license in its current form but seeming Freo is the result of a merger between South and East Fremantle who would be offered new licenses it shouldnt matter too much. There is room for other teams from other states to enter as well in each pool
