You are invited to join the Sweet Cricket Association - BigFooty's new premier fantasy cricket league. The successor to the BigFooty Fantasy Cricket League, the inaugural First-Class Sweet CA Season 01 is set to commence in late 2024 / early 2025. The Sweet CA will be located within a sub-forum to the Sweet FA.
The league, including team names and grounds, will be set in and around the Municipality of Sweet, sharing the lands and grounds of the Sweet FA.
The Sweet CA is to be a pathway to the wider world of Qooty for new posters, a place for budding leaders to showcase potential, an off-season activity for qootballers needing a sim fix, or simply for those of us who just love or miss a little simulated cricket.
Each club formed this summer will commence theirs and the leagues journey with its own stats, careers, stars and stories waiting to be told. Whilst being a new league with new sim profiles, exciting ways are planned to respect the history of the BFFCL with details to be shared at a later date.
Register to start your career!
To register your profile, you must do so by copying the below dot points and posting a completed response in this thread:
- BigFooty Username:
- Player Type (select one): Keeper | Pure Batter | Batting All-Rounder | Pure All-Rounder | Bowling All-Rounder | Pure Bowler
- Left or Right handed:
- Bowl Type (select one): Right Arm Medium Fast | Left Arm Medium Fast | Right Arm Fast | Left Arm Fast | Right Arm Leg Break | Right Arm Off Spin | Left Arm Spin | Right Arm Medium | Left Arm Medium
UPDATE 16/09: Please consider signing up as a pure bowler - we're a little short!
Registration qualifies you for the Sweet CA Season 01 Draft.
Batters may select a bowling type for the sim if they wish, however it is quite uncommon that batters get a bowl. If a batter does not chose a preferred bowling type, a bowling type will be selected on your behalf.

Do you want to be a foundation club captain?
To submit your provisional team bid, an Expression of Interest must be submitted by sending a PM to cats2rise with the following information:
- Team Name, Logo and Ground
- NOTE: Successful bids will be required to be based at an existing or proposed new ground in or around the Municipality of Sweet. This may be a groundshare with an existing Sweet FA club, using/leasing a ground not in use, or of course the creation of a new ground. Please reach out to cats2rise or Mobbs to discuss - we're here to help
- Bid group (Max. 6 players) and provisional leadership structure
- NOTE: Nominated players must have already registered for the competition, and a link to that persons registration post must be provided.
- A 'Statement of Intent' for the club in its founding seasons under your and others' leadership
There is no rush to submit a team bid - Closing dates for bids will be announced (in advance to give you a heads up!) at a later date.
For those experienced with the Sweet FA, it is the same concept - just with a cricket sim!
For those still scratching their heads, the Sweet CA is a simulated fantasy cricket league where the league and teams are made up of BigFooty posters. The league will have seasons, rules, clubs, captains, fixtures, ladders, stats and history - what fun!
Each round, match threads are created where posters of the two teams (and visitors) engage with one another. The cricket simulator creates and spits out commentary and statistics which are posted in the match threads.
The sim has different batting and bowling averages for different player types to reflect real cricket. It's test cricket so list management is required. If a team has to play 5 all-rounders... there's a risk the team will not score enough runs or take enough wickets. It is suggested that any given match line up of 11 would have 4-5 pure batters, 1 x wicketkeeper, 1-2 x all-rounders and 3-5 pure bowlers (depending on form and pitch type)
Want to help out?
Expressions of Interest must be submitted via sending a PM to cats2rise identifying which roles you are interested in:
- Creating match threads
- Posting simmed games
- League graphics and imagery
- Weekly league statistics
Closing dates for EOIs will be announced at a later date, however likely best to get in early.
Where to from here?
Information including league details, league rules, season fixtures and draft details will be announced at a later date.
Regular formal responses to key questions and topics raised in this thread will be provided.
