Best bats I ever had

SS ****ing thing was like Excalibur

Grey Nicholls thing was a meat axe made from English willow

Grey nicholls double scoop hit a nice six off a top edge on that campaigner of thing

A Duncan Fernley. Could never tame the campaigner I made so many runs nicking it

captain blood 17 any contributions to make
I used to cream my jocks over my Grey Nicholls single scoop.
Best bat i have ever owned is my handmade Kingfisher out of Melbourne. 2 pound 10. Had a middle on it like a mutha****a.
As for bats i wanted, man, a Duncan Fearnley was the stuff of dreams.

I'd a thought a man of your batting prowess would have been invited to the factory and given a selection handmade Duncan Fernleys free of charge.

Fearnley's were at the top of the heap with the Grey Nicholls scoops and the Slazenger Vs.

Border, Richards and S Waugh amongst others used Duncan Fearnley's at particular stages from memory.

I had one when I was a teenager great bat not too heavy either, but a cracking bat. It actually wasn't mine and it was given to me by my cuzz who replaced with an upgrade as he was pretty serious about his cricket back then.

I didn't care it was second hand it was a DF and none of my mates had one ..........best :thumbsu:

Stuart Surridge was the bat of choice for most of us young'uns in the early 70s. Watching Vivie throw his jumbo around was a joy to see.

Mate I loved the west indies in the 70s, 80s and early 90s especially the batters

Viv Richards
Richie Richardson
Gordon Greenidge
Dessie Haynes

Tried to base my batting stance on Richie Richardson haha and my bowling technique on Ian bishop. No wonder I didn’t make it

Kingfishers ****ing great bats too

Lachlan Fisher used to have his workshop around the corner from me when I lived in the inner west. I think he closed or moved can’t remember but every now and then I popped my head in to see what he was working on
