It's unexpected for me to find someone with an ability to see and express nuance as part of this administration. I hope he gets a chance to contribute in among the other "voices" there.

So that is promising, and a lot of that bio is a helpful reminder but I also read through this that he may be *the* guy, if there was just "one", who convinced Obama's NSC to attempt to "pick a winner" out of the several "non Al-Queda aligned sunni Islamist" or "pro-democracy" type groups. That was never going to work, IMHO, and yes I made that sad call years ago. Crushed between the vicious stones of massive Gulf/Saudi funding for IS and massive Iranian, then Russian, backing of their Shia allies. McMaster's insistence that "IS was *not* Islamic" which Obama (re-)articulated really well in a few speeches, and which was an extremely important point to make *to* communities in the West, turned out to be less important in the dirty world of Gulf politics than the fact that those ISIS a***holes were originally Sunni, even if the vast majority of their own community would consider them... takfiri, an incendiary accusation not to be lightly tossed around in that world :(

Cold comfort to tell a girl who's been sexually assaulted or r*ped that 'it's just a minority of bad apples.' I'm sure that will help her get to sleep at night.

Also, 'cultural baggage', really? It's just plain insulting to the multitude of immigrants who do the right thing. To imply 'cultural baggage' is to wash your hands of the responsibility of fixing things - 'oh, he just r*ped her because he didn't know any better.' Patronising hogwash.



The US has suffered less than Europe in this regard because it has extremely tight vetting and rigorous screening before granting visas. Also, because the vast majority of immigrants it accepts are university educated professionals, not backwards village peasants as have flooded into Europe. Nothing more, nothing less.



Again, I find this hugely insulting to the Greek, Italian, Vietnamese populations who settled into Australia peacefully, worked hard, put their heads down and got on with things to the overall benefit of our country. To compare them to the violence, backwardness and hostility of some of the Muslim communities in the West is just being intellectually lazy and dishonest.

Of course no community group is perfect, far from it. But I never heard of young Greek men in Australia forming sex trafficking gangs and pimping out underage girls in Adelaide. I never heard of Italian-Australians forming ethnic enclaves where it's unsafe for non-Italians to enter into? I never heard of Vietnamese men ordering their daughters to be genitally mutilated, married at 16 and covered up from head-to-toe their entire lives. Maybe I'm just not reading the right news sources :rolleyes:

I'm sure Theo Van Gogh really appreciated that it was only 'a bit of a problem' as he was shot at point blank range while lying in a pool of his own blood begging for mercy on the sidewalk of Amsterdam. Maybe ask Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Salman Rushdie or Nawal El Saadawi whether they think things like female genital mutilation, oppressive veiling, domestic violence and forced child marriages are 'a bit of a problem.' Again, this is your privilege showing and you don't even realise it.



When we are in the 21st century and people are still being beheaded in the name of religion, when children are still being mutilated, when women are still being assaulted and oppressed, when cities are becoming unsafe and havens of intolerance and radicalism, then yes, I do believe it is an existential problem for us all. Maybe in your safe nice hipster inner-city Sydney enclave you do not see these things, and so they do not leave such an impression upon you. To that I can only say, educate yourself, and maybe have some compassion for the unseen victims nobody wants to talk about because it upsets their rosy little view of the world.

We've seen this before from Trump, his victory speech was almost Presidential.

Then he'll go off the deep end not a day later.

I get the feeling hes ok at well prepared and written formal speeches.

Ad-lib stuff and he falls apart.

No, this in retort to calling Trump a fascist, it's been done before and I am sure it will get done again. Whether or not Obama banned them or caved in due to protest is irrelevant.

You posted a YouTube clip of Swedish medics saying they can't go to some areas because of safety. Harlott posted an article showing the Victorian medics have concerns over safety too.

Implying - being a paramedic is dangerous work, no matter where you are and trying to conflate that to immigration is folly

He exhibits some Fascist tendencies, but is perhaps lacking in execution, much like the rest of his administration.

It's not irrelevant. If I attempt to Murder someone but fail, is that the same as actually murdering 8 people?

So what does banning paramedics going into areas with ice addict people have to do with asking for body armour to enter areas with Criminal immigrants?

More specifically what does it have to do with vetting and kicking out illegal immigrants or immigrants that commit crimes?

This is all opinion, let's agree to forget this one it's really neither here or there.

But I recommend you look up and really research Obama and the protests you have for Trump might have less meaning. It won't seem so insignificant because from what you're posting you haven't researched Obama as much as you are researching Trump.

But ties in with how they are going after Trump.

They are now going after Marine Le Pen from France, with elections 2 months away. She has become very popular (boosted by Trump win) but now they are pulling her Parliamentry immunity away from her.

I must admit I don't know a hell of a lot about her but she seems too far right for me.

I have read that her chances of a victory are overstated, less than 5%.

Heard that before though.

I will get you some stuff. I know you guys wonder why we keep bring up Obama but it has everything to do with why Trump has been elected.

I mean just a simple snapshot, consider this..Can you imagine the uproar if Trump

doubled the national debt in an 8 year term? Tell me what the hell did Obama do with that money?
What does America have to show for it?

Obama deported more people than any other president. We know the uproar about this issue with Trump.

This whole Russian thing is a ruse started by Obama. He sabotaged Trump's transition. Have a look at what Obama said to the Russians when he didn't realise he was mic'd up I think just after he got elected for his second term I can't remember.

He is the only President in history to fight a war everyday of his term.

The excuse for Obama is he inherited George Bush's mess does Trump get the excuse of inheriting Obama's mess which is significantly greater than what Bush did.

Not once did Obama get grilled hardcore Trump levels from the media and these issues are plain to see. You don't even have to look too hard to find them. Imagine when you actually look hard what you will find on Obama.

Honestly I havent even gotten into it but these are starting points you should begin to question when you are accessing Trump and may give an insight to Trump's policies and why he is doing it.

The left is dieing and it only has itself to blame.




Le Pen is steamrolling especially after Trump's victory, then they throw this BS of stripping her immunity? This is crazy surely you must see how unfathomable this is.
