They seem to be focusing on 2-3 characters an episode
In 6 episodes we've had
1 mainly Rick and began
2 Morgan Carol and the king
3 Darryl Dwight and began
4 Rick and neegan and maybe Rosita/Michonne
5 Maggie and Sasha / Carl/enid
6 Tara /pretend Heath

And we've covered what maybe a week in time?

Add to that more than once the next week on walking dead trailer has been wrong and they keep sending episodes with character cliffhangers then ignoring them for weeks and it's feeling like they don't really have anywhere to go.

Feels like they got 6 writers and directors and got them to make an episode on a couple of characters with nobody thinking about the overall flow or tone or rhythm

Hopefully they start bringing the characters back together into a bigger group because I don't think the show runners have got the show humming in the current format

ZZZZZZzzzz most boring episode yet.

I can't help but want to like the show again.

But from Negan not shutting the **** up to a whole episode on nothing characters, I don't hold out hope until maybe next week when it looks like Jesus will actually do something to recon Negans lair.

something needs to get moving on this show.

When the zombies had her on the bridge why didnt they bite her? She just had a conversation whilst 3 of them danced with her. Pathetic zombies are pathetic.

I know right it's almost like the Zombies don't want to bite people anymore ffs.

Cruyff14 loves signatures how bizarre, how bizarre

If they can't talk how can they let everybody in the world know they're vegan tho.
I think we nutted this out, Zombies are vegan and because they are vegan, they are too weak to talk, hence why they bite people so they can let you know they are vegans. You obviously die from a vegan bite because they would naturally be anti vaxxers, so you would get multiple diseases from the bite.

wasn't too bad but no one cares about these characters

just so much that is unbelievable

fat chick with big thighs wearing jeans, why do so many people wear jeans?

drives for 2 weeks then walks back still overweight and still in jeans and doesnt look completely feral, at least show her driving back

all those women get away from negan lol, give me a break

the black walker with dreads just made me cringe, they do the same thing every time

the show should just stick with the main likable characters, Carol, Daryl, Morgan and Rick

no one cares about tara so having a full episode on her before killing her off later isnt going to matter

On one hand I want to commend the show for having the guts to try to address one of its biggest issues - most of the characters are horribly under developed and no one cares about them.

On the other hand it has come at the expense of stalling the story and making the whole thing drag.

I suggest the writers look at two of my favourite shows - Lost and Battlestar Galactica. Both had large ensemble casts and were able to develop their characters quite well without sacrificing the overall narrative.

Each episode can be focussed both thematically and character wise - to give week to week satisfaction - but also need to at least involve the rest of the cast and drive the overall story forward, even if only incrementally.

It shouldn't be so hard.

Yeah but remember they did have sand in their mouths. Tried eating something with sand in your mouth?

Just had a thought. I said this in my take monday night. when she mentioned satellite dish, one of the women at the table looked at boss lady. Now, all the women got away from the survivors right? hmmm, if you will allow me to put my cynics hat on....the women KNOW about the satellite dish and outpost because........THEY ARE PART OF THE SURVIVORS!!!

the black walker with dreads just made me cringe, they do the same thing every time

This is exactly my thoughts on the episode.

The whole time is was distracted by how tara was still overweight, while acting starving.

in the last 3 months i lost 8 kgs of my 15 kg goal by cutting out sugar and most carbs, apart from cheat day.

Im supposed to believe this chick has gained weight in 2 or so years whilst eating rations? She should have lost 5 kilos in those 2 weeks spent scavenging for **** sake.

If an actor is not going to go all in for a role in the zombie apocalypse on a massive show, i aint going to believe her. Either kill her off, orrr dont dedicated a whole episode to her being starving.

she's been missing while having a child so I'll cut her some slack for that, the bigger issue for me was just that her character was all over the shop and I don't know whether it was the writing, acting or both but she just didn't carry the episode for me

So, Tara's real name is Alana Masterson. Her father, Joe Reaiche, played rugby league for the Roosters, Bulldogs and Rabbitohs. Her brother, Jordan, currently stars in Tim Allen's sitcom Last Man Standing. Her half-brother, Danny, starred as Steven Hyde in That 70's Show. And her other half-brother, Christopher, starred as Francis in Malcolm in the Middle.
Her bikini pics are worth a look :thumbsu:

.
How cool would a season of flashbacks to their life pre apocalypse be, OITNB/LOST style. I loved the Michonne backstory episode, made her seem human for a change. I think Rick had one in S1 as well.

My missus has watched every episode, she legit had no idea who Heath was. Can't say I blame her.

Tara has mad spidey senses, I thought everything was above board when they were walking her back to the bridge.

Its not gonna win any awards but I thought the episode wasn't too bad considering it was about 2 periphery characters no one gives a sh1t about, definitely seen worse WD eps over the journey. Definition of filler though - who the hell thought those 2 (well only Tara really) deserved their own episode? No-one, just a text-book WD move to stretch the season to 16.

Don't think it was a big problem - they said they'd been away for 2 weeks, not driven for 2 weeks in one direction. I just assumed they were driving in a radius around Alexandria, could have only been 10ks away for all we know.

all those women get away from negan lol, give me a break

Easy enough isn't it? Like they said, just leave one night. The Daryl situation not withstanding, I think its actually the course of action Rick & co. should take - just get back on the road and try to find somewhere else far away.

Agree with the rest of your post though.
