The war against renewable energy

Correct. England close their last coal mine with abot 6 times our population and Albanenese still arguing we need coal.
Abanese= Climate bastard.

what do you make of the comments by the britts on that page.

Right at the moment, based on this

England is powered by a majority of Nuclear and Gas, along with a good amount of Wind and Biomass. Negligible battery storage .
Both better options for CO2 than Coal.
Here in Victoria they tell us there is no gas left. ( 1/4 to 1/3 the CO2 than Coal ).

They are also, conveniently for them, buying electricity from France and Belgium.
Why can't you understand the difference?

We have unlimited offshore wind and solar. There is no reason to open new coal and gas. Why can you not understand that ?
South Australia is close to 100 renewable now.
Why are you talking crap?

I didn't bring up coal. You're obsessed

You said our states energy is almost 100% renewable. Great news with how cheap you guys claim it is, our bills will undoubtedly go down I'm sure ;)
Nice propaganda deflection. In your crazy world this is how you justify you're love of coal.
You must be so angry that the whole state was briefly run on 100% renewables last month.
Not sure why u talk about price. Is that your last comeback when trashing clean energy now?

Sun and wind are decades away from powering the state though and theyve banned fracking/exploration of oil and gas which will and has caused the same supply issues as coal.

You will be paying through the nose for energy because the government let you down listening to greenies years before they needed to, or should have. Wait until renewables are ready before giving up on fossil fuels

The poorest will be the ones hit hardest, ironically those idiots gluing themselves to roads often in this group...
Decades away? How many decades?
Another totally wrong assertion.

'Wait until renewables are ready'?
How long u reckon? A couple more decades ? Lol

Does anyone have a good web-based calculator they have used to assess the business case for home battery and solar?

We've got a small 2 kW system and have benefitted from the 66 cent feed-in tariff, which comes to an end on 1 November, so looking at increasing the number of panels and thinking about batteries.

Why are you talking crap?

Are you claiming that the UK is NOT using gas and nuclear and purchasing .
I'm not talking crap, you're talking stoopid.
Wind is NOT unlimited, its only available when the wind is blowing.
NO ITS NOT BLOWING ALL THE TIME. Haven't you ever seen an old pirate movie?
Solar is simply not available after sunset.

People throw up examples about what a good job the English are doing and why we are crap, well they have Nuclear.

Stop using propaganda cliches and look at the rest of the world. You sound like Malcom Roberts.
There's plenty of scope to massively increase renewables on the grid.
You talk as though Australia is a normal country in regards to how much fossil fuel we produce and yet we are the worst in the world.
I wouldn't be believing the gas propaganda ads either.
Wake up.

I think most of the nuclear they draw upon is French.

At the moment , in S.A. they are on 38% Gas, 41% solar, 21% wind. ( That's the grid, and doesn't count self used Solar ).

They installed more gas generation after some of their previous issues.
I think 30% gas for the year is a good result, since their gas would probably only put out 1/3 of the emissions a coal station does.

Of course S.A. only needs 103GWh per year, while Victoria needs 900 .
Victoria uses more wind generated electricity than S.A. does.
Victoria uses more solar generated electricity from the Grid than S.A.does.

Gas propaganda?
Its Chemistry.
Go to school and learn something.

Brown coal in particular ( used in Victoria ) releases 1.4kg CO2 per KWh. run of the mill gas turbines are around 0.4kg CO2 kwh, High efficiency gas is getting close to 0.25kg/kwh. ( we have a few in australia but mostly cheap run of the mill. Some of the crappy ones used in Victoria were bought second hand from New Zealand ,and are essentially DC9 aeroplane engines hooked to a generator. They are crap, but still less CO2 than coal ).

Do you want me to dig up the chemical equations.

Stupid people can't get their head around the fact that capital costs are more of an issue than running costs.
Oh and that the sun doesn't shine at night.

Ironically its exactly the reason we shouldn't get Nuclear.

HERE is the rest of the world.

Lets emulate........NORWAY...
We just need to find a way to get more rain, and encapsulate it in ice so that it melts constantly and we get this huge increase in riverflow per capita.

Might be hard. Maybe we should start by damming the Franklin.

All those other greenish ones are using Nuclear.

Why would you exclude self used solar?
