In every other game (against top 8 teams, or bottom 10 teams outside of Docklands) they have a 13-13 record with a percentage of 105.9 and an average score of 79. They certainly don't mind the chance of a good downhill ski.

Smash poor teams, sometimes pull it off against similar level teams, but that papered over some serious deficiencies that got exposed when it matters.

As painful as the 2018 prelim and 2019 seasons were, it was the wake up call Melbourne needed.

The worst thing that could happen for The Western is they scrape into the finals this by beating up on poor teams, and they don’t bite the bullet and make the tough trades required to take the next step.
