I’d be interested to see his % of total goals from free kicks.
I don’t have that stat, but career Weightman has received 36 free kicks for 223 disposals and 39 goals. Over 16% of his career disposals through frees and a roughly 1-1 (frees to goals) ratio for goals.

Contrast to Pickett. 28 frees, 446 disposals (6.3% disposals through frees) and 53 goals (around a 1-2 ratio for frees time goals).

Still remember Lachie Hunter going for the duck on the wing in the GF and Viney destroying him in a tackle.

That shit works in H&A, but in finals there can't be any hesitation to win the hard ball and find a team-mate. If even 10% of your headspace is taken up by thinking about how to milk a free, then you're in trouble.

Even more of a problem when 5+ players on your team are looking to do the exact same thing. It's loser shit.

Tell that to the Hawks, Giants and Swans of 2016.

I don't care about any historical precedent, I'm in the Western thread calling them ducking losers and that's that

Melbourne > Western Bulldogs
We were careful in the GF though, even while being ferocious in attack. Salem made a point during a pregame presser to say that you need to be mindful when you're around 'crafty' players like Weightman.

What's going on at the Western?

In: S.Martin, R.McComb, J.Schache
Out: R.Garcia (knee), T.English (hamstring), L.Hunter (Personal Reason), M.Wallis (Personal Reason)

Seems like something is upsetting the players at the club?

Was at the game and boy were they average.

Crows played really well and their defense of Frampton and Butts were excellent and pressure all over the park was A+.

Playing Jamarra is like playing 1 down. Looks like Wattsy out there. Drifting around, doesn't want the footy and you can tell he wishes he's 10cm smaller at the moment and can float around the front of packs and try and get a handball. Has got a leap and some skills but he ain't ready yet. Probably just gonna kill his confidence.

Very slight wind and the Dogs ability to move the ball is cooked.

Watch out if you're a bottom 6 team and they get you at the Dome though, they'll probably put you to the sword.

JUH had that big contest at the end and was absolutely flattened. Or he would have been if he didn't move out the way.

The kid has played five this season, and averages 2.2 marks, 5.8 touches and 0.8 goals.

Get him out of the firing line or he will start to cop some mainstream media and fan criticism.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we broke them in the GF and they won't get near it this year.

JUH looks so ordinary. If he gets near the career of Jack Watts it will be impressive..

They've now lost more times (five) in their last seven matches than we have in our last 32.

Media over-compensate for how hard they went on Watts by going soft on high picks these days.

Every time you hear a commentator talk about JUH they're walking on egg shells.

If only the Lachie Hunter omission wasn't leaked they would have beaten the bloody crows!
The Talia brothers at it again!
