I can't believe how bizarre the reviews for this have been, it's as if they were expecting an actual GoT spin-off or something. Although in the comments of one bad review I read someone mentioned that the reviewer also bagged out Chernobyl, so that gave me hope. I enjoyed every bit of it and am only disappointed that I accidentally watched it all in a rush instead of stringing it out a bit more. And with the show being one of the most popular things that Netflix has done, there'll be bigger budgets and plenty more seasons you'd think.

The first season is essentially a series of short stories they cobbled together.
S2 with a more concise story should be better as well

That song gets stuck in your head but it’s like being forced to have sex with your crush...because it’s just too damned good.

Toss a coin to your witcher, o valley of plenttyyyyy....

Finished it and totally loved it and that last episode with the attack on Sodden and the female Mages doing their stuff was riveting.

10/10

Now to wait 12 Mths for season 2.

Agree. It's not trying to be a GoT. Take it for what it is. Read the books or GTF over it. I think it's solid. I love the creator of the tv series saying she doesn't give a sh** about the big critics reviews who have only seen ep 1 and a later episode. She values the little guys who watched the whole series.

Season 2 she is going to focus on making it more intense.

Also the director/screen writer/head of the show would love to make it go 7 seasons.

Bring in Phillipa Eilhart!

Critics weren't entirely wrong though. The show's attempt at a convoluted timeline structure did fall flat on its ass. Not because it didn't make sense but because it was poorly executed. They tried for a clever concept but brought it forward in the most straightforward way imaginable (even if they wanted it to be intentionally vague I'm frankly not senseing why).

Watched 6 eps, pretty good. Not sure what the timelines are, like in between Geralt and Yennefer meeting up again etc, or the time since she became hot to when she was hosting mass orgies etc. But has not ruined my enjoyment.
