The worst day/s of your life as a footy fan?

From a purely on-field point of view the 2005 and 2015 GFS are obviously up there (and Nic Nat's ACL last year deserves a mention too :()

However, some things are more important

For me, it was undoubtedly the day I woke up to the news that Mainy had passed away :'(
(until that point, 2007 had already been an extremely tough year as an Eagles fan due to my hero Cousins' fall from grace/the drugs saga, our straight sets finals exit in the context of injuries and Judd's decision to leave :(, but that news put everything into perspective )
Only Phil Walsh's death comes close :'(
RIP Mainy and Walshy

When Jimmy Stynes died I was ready to chuck it in.

Oddly, a few days after he died that was the thing that made me renew my membership even though we were a joke and I thought the club would fold. But I was pretty depressed at the time

Nothing really compares to losing Phil Walsh. Adelaide fans have had a fair bit of shit to deal with in recent years but that was the lowest point in the history of the club.

If we're talking purely game related tragedy, I would say we we're robbed by the umpires in the 2012 Prelim. Lots of teams have had moments like this though.

2014.

First time at the MCG, let alone a Grand Final. Naturally my mates and I were buzzing with adrenalin waiting for the first bounce.

When JPK kicked the first goal of the game, my mates and I jumped out of our seats hi-fiving each other. After that, it was all downhill from there...my mates sat there in silence for the remainder of the game.

It was a long flight home..

2012 Grand final. I'm from WA and it was my first GF I won the ballot and went over by myself, was dreadful. Have also attended the 2010 hawks final elimination by freo, 2015 QF loss to eagles, then of course didn't go to the freo game they won a fortnight later. Hawks have lost the last 6 games I've watched live, better at home with cheap beer tbh..

So are you coming over to Melbourne for the Easter Monday clash?

97 Prelim. Was at the game and halfway through the last quarter was discussing with my dad how we were going to get tickets for the following week.

Libbas goal gets called a point, Jarman decides to turn it on and then C Grant tries to pick ball up in goal square when he just needed to kick it off the ground.
A lot went wrong in that last quarter and it still hurts. Even after winning it last year.

2010 Grand Final. With only a couple of minutes left I was convinced we were gonna do it. I thought we were going to win, that I would get to see a St. Kilda flag. But then it was a draw - what just happened? Do we really have to go through it all again next week? Can't come any closer than that day, after the replay I was just so emotionally drained from the club, the 6 years of mediocrity that followed was very painful to go through. Of course I stuck by the club and always will, but I did not enjoy football at all between 2011-2014.

We would've won that if the umpires knew the rules and didnt cheat at end (sharrod wellingham and not returning the ball properly/running over the mark) and if Rooeys shot from 50 bounced forward and not up so that the worst captain of afl history could touch it on the line -would've put us 12 points up with 2 minutes left.

Worst for me was the replay, actually went and probably the only time I'll be able to go seeing as I live in SA
