at the ripe old age of 36 if finally stopped copping out and bitten the bullet - im going back to study (while still working full time) (and bringing up two infants)

Bachelor of communicatrion -media studies

will probably end in tears but until that moment i gotta say im pretty excited!

any advice on how to study most welcomed.... things have probably changed since i used an inkwell & quill
How old are the infants? It could be the best time to be studying.

I'm preparing for my PMP certification and the 3 & 6 year olds have the expectation of playing if i am not at work or doing house work. Only chance i get is if they are in bed or out of the house.

mine are 2 and 4, and pretty full on!

I guess the issue is when i get home from work my missus just dumps them at me, cause she thinks her shift is over, so i do the double shift! but enough of houshold politics ;)

I figure ill use my 5am train journey to work every day to do a bit, and nights when they are in bed.

Ill start with the minimum 2 units and see how times goes, if its pretty easy ill crank it up. I suppose it would be easier if they were school age but you cant fight inspiration, it hit me and i have to grab it now, if i dont ill just fall back into my lazy rut

Congratulations Howard Moon my sister at 45 did this through the Open University scheme it was the best thing she ever did.
She was able to obtain a discount on her books through Monash Uni

the hecs system is still a bit new to me, i assume i already earn over the threshold so i suppose ill be paying it abck from day one

i hear the government will pay the fees of any study you do that is one level above any previous level you have attained.

ie if you have done a cert 3 they will pay for your cert 4,

it seems smart to quickly knock out a cert 4 at work if this is the case to go on and get a free dimploma :p

Nah I reckon she'll be okay and if she isn't it'll be all the more hilarious. :D

I don't want to see any of his stand up though because there's nothing worse than going to see a comedian doing the same material you've already seen which has happened a few times.. Dave Hughes, Tim Minchin, Stephen K. Amos just off the top of my head.
