Wifey and I agreed not to get each other presents this year but over the last couple of days I had begun to get the feeling she had secretly got me something and I was going to feel like an arse this morning. So on the way home from work yesterday I braved the Christmas eve shopping throng to get her 3 presents which I then wrapped by stealth while she was in the shower last night.

Turns out she didn't get me anything afterall so now she feels like an arse and is being super nice to me. This is going to be a great Christmas. So much high ground to take at will.

We did this on our last night in Adelaide - at Somerton Park beach with extended family and our dogs (and a couple of international fashion models). The perfect end to our Christmas holiday.

1500m and 24 hours - the next evening when you were enjoying the sunset we were sweltering in 45C heat in Hay in a motel with 3 slightly cranky kids and a dog...it was lovely in a different sort of way.
