This time last year

I find it very funny that this time last year one of the most bagged Hawthorn players on this site was Clinton Young.

Many on here criticized his lack of attack on the ball, a BOG in half the GF and 6 months passes and now there are so many posts saying how badly we need his run and how much we miss him.

I wonder if some of the posters are the same???

He went through a rough patch from rounds 12-19. Not sure whether he was injured or just out of form, but we did carry him.
In the grand final, even though he kicked that terrific goal on the run, wasn't that influential...yes he did have 19 posessions when he limped off but he did turn it over a few times.

I'm looking forward to his return because we miss his deep penetrating kicks into the forward line.

Yes its funny how it all works.. 2007 Osborne was the scapegoat and should have been dropped every week. Last year he was a gun for us.. This year in a team that is not working together he looks pretty ordinary again. Meanwhile its the middle tier players at St Kilda who are looking like guns..

I'm a big fan of this bloke. Just the other day I was watching the last 5 minutes of the final game vs Adelaide in 2007. We all know that Ladson passed to Buddy for that amazing winning goal. Watching the replay it's equally amazing to note that a minute earlier Ladson snuck a ripper pass to Roughy for what was our second last kick at goal (a point). He's a crucial player with unique skills and judgement in very tense situations.

He makes less mistakes than a few players currently in atm. He isn't essential, but handy.

I think a major reason we aren't as good this year is our worst 6 of the 22...last year:

Guerra
Osborne
Young
Renouf
Dew

Vs. Bulldogs
Murphy
Taylor
McGlynn
Stokes
Kennedy
Shiels

Thats a massive difference in quality. Our last 6 last year were great.
